Tata Motors enables priority test drives for its flagship SUV- Harrier
- Partners with ORIX India to enable this facility at customer’s doorstep

Delhi, October 22, 2019:
Tata Motors has launched the first of its kind in the country Priority Test Drives for its flagship SUV – the Harrier. This initiative, rolled out in partnership with Orix, a global leader in innovative leasing & transportation solutions, will provide all potential customers the convenience to test drive the Harrier at their doorstep.

In keeping up with the changing profile and preferences of its customers, Tata Motors customers now have the option to book their test drive online as per their convenient time and location. This industry-first service will initially be available for customers based in Mumbai and Delhi NCR, and will be extended to other cities later.

Commenting on the launch of yet another customer-friendly service, Mr. S N Barman, Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Customer Support, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said, The Tata Harrier is our flagship product and has been widely appreciated by customers and the industry alike, ever since its launch earlier this year. Over the last few months we have found a high acceptance of Harrier from high net worth individuals. There are many customers with busy schedules who wish for test drives at a time and place convenient to them. In order to align with our progressively digital customers we are elated to partner with Orix to let customers schedule a test drive from the comfort of their home with just a few clicks. This will give customers the freedom to select a test drive at a time and location of their choice. We are hopeful that this industry first online test drive booking will act as a small step towards helping ease out the buying procedure for Harrier customers by providing them a superlative experience.”

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sandeep Gambhir, MD and CEO of ORIX India, said - We are very excited to work with Tata Motors on this new initiative. We hope this partnership will help in providing the customers a fabulous experience of a fantastic product. Through a perfect combination of technology, innovation and human touch, we hope that this association of two leading and well respected brands will provide a satisfying customer experience at his doorstep and help customers make a well informed choice about the harrier and also suggest newer ways and means to own the product of their choice. This is probably just the beginning of a great partnership, where both Tata motors and ORIX will work towards more of such innovative customer centric initiatives in the near future and help provide a differentiating experience to the customer.

The process:
Customers have to visit the Harrier website and fill a brief lead form with their personal details, post which they will get multiple date and time options, from which they can select a time of their preference. Once those details have been submitted, the customer will receive a confirmation for the test drive. They will receive a callback from the Tata Motors’ Customer Care team who will help them schedule the test drive.

The Harrier, built on the OMEGARC architecture, derived from Land Rover's legendary D8 platform, and based on Tata Motors’ IMPACT 2.0 design language, is the perfect combination of stunning design and excellent performance. Powered by the cutting-edge Kryotec 2.0 Diesel engine and Advanced Terrain Response Modes, Harrier assures an exhilarating performance on the toughest of terrains.

Congratulation on your new beast. orcas white looks great on road. By the way why did you not opt for dark edition?
Thank you. Yes the dark edition is really good. However i wanted a color which suits a family man [;)]. Also home minister did not approve the dark edotion. Her opinion is the dark edition looks like a mafia car

As for the clutch issue, I had faced a clutch cylinder failure in my Nexon in May-2019. Though so far on our forum haven't read of clutch failures in Harrier . I just wish the Harrier isn't plagued by the same clutch fault.

Harrier any day has a more imposing road presence compared to Seltos. However, I would suggest to him to consider the Hector too. Harrier and Hector are the direct competitors. So far, Hector owners have largely spoken well about the car.

With all the breakdown issues reported on Hector, if the owners are still giving good response then kudos to MG. TML lost a great opportunity.

Buddy, I did not consider Harrier as an inferior product as you may read above. I just spoke w.r.t my experience with the clutch issue of my Nexon. I did not say Harrier also has the same. Infact, if Seltos and Harrier as being considered, then definitely Harrier has an imposing persona as I said. My point is, if one is considering Seltos and Harrier then even the Hector is worth considering and so far the issues that I have read in Hector are about the laggy ICE in some cases and there was one case of a sunroof leak. Apart from this I did not come across issues on Hector. Secondly, Hector and Harrier compete in same segment so their merits can be evaluated before coming to final decision. At the end, it's the choice of the buyer and no TML hasn't lost a opportunity or anything but yes Hector has given a real tough fight to Harrier and yes the buyers of Hector at-large are happy about what it offers for the price it is being sold for. It can't be denied that Hector has proved to be a big success for MG in India.

Before booking harrier i took TD of both Harrier and seltos. Both are two different segment. Seltos is a compact car whereas harrier is a mid size SUV. If your friend loves features and gizmos he will love the seltos. But if he is looking for a car which ia comfortable for highway ride with good amount of space then Harrier is the car for him.
And if your friend is serious about seltos, tell him not to take TD of harrier. Because once you sit inside the harrier, you will feel seltos is just a regular small car (no offence to prospective seltos buyers)

Well thank you guys for your help. I had advised my friend to take a long test test drive and infect he took an hour long test drive of the Harrier. He had complained about unable to find that perfect seating position but in that hour long drive he was able to find that sweet spot. And he did drive in small lanes on Chennai OMR. and found that Harrier is suited for him. He said he is now close to finalizing the harrier and that would be the dark edition (if at all )

Personally I saw the dark edition upclose. the black color is just like the Storme's Astern black color but that looks so bad ass on Harrier compared to Harrier my Storme looks like an "elderly uncle". Fell in love with harrier all over again.

I miss that Black Edition. But I still love the Orcus white because any SUV in white looks better.
