Just came across the article on Car-trade that says "Tata Bolt diesel a worthy competitor of Maruti Suzuki Swift"
Specs wise /feature wise Bolt always seems superior. I don't think anything is wrong with the design here. It was featured as a version of Zest Hatch, that's why zest was launch first but people assumed it as Vista.
Looks are important. But drive-ability and features are must.
When u step inside Bolt you will definitely get a premium feeling. Sales wise it will slowly pickup after people know its a new and better product from TATA.
Some smart people do refer forums ownership review before buying and that is really helpful then peoples perception about brand.

Forums definitely needs more promotions online so people are aware what they are buying..............[:)]

Re: Ford EcoSport Review & Pictures

Figo hatchback vs rivals
Ford is just rocking, the performance+mileage+safety+drive+value co efficient is again segment bending, now lets see how market behaves to this product, if this Figo/Aspire twins dosent get into Indias heart then nobody is to be blamed but our population itself

My vote is for Figo hatch back,
Never had this segment seen such an athletic(POWER) yet capable dancer(HANDLING),
The Figo hatch is spacious, powerful, rides and handles well, has quiet interior, best mileage despite that bonkers power, good GC of 174 mm, best safety features, good looks, good boot, fold able back seats, good amount of storage spaces inside, well built, and cheap to buy and run.
Its a no brainer according to me, the Bolt is a close 2nd

you are right RS. I thing all new Figo hatch is the last nail on Bolts coffin
Actually Bolt is a great car, for a Tata it was miles better than what a Tata should have been, but the Figo and Figo Aspire somehow managed to be jack of all trades without much compromise, Tata Bold and Zest even rides and handles good, but the heart is no way a match to Figos explosive yet completely tamed power, despite all this its easily managing over 17 kmpl in city and over 23 highway,
Also its safe, so they haveent skimped on any category which makes me think its the best hatch back in India so far.

Instead of Hyundai Grand i10 they could have considered polo.

Why haven't they considered polo? It is much more fun to drive like the ford than the others. And it is much more fun to drive than the Hyundai i10 ( in terms of power).

Polo is sold in India as a premium hatch back,
Polos rivals are Hyundai i20 elite, Honda Jazz, Suzuki Baleno,
And out of these the i20 Elite despite its weakness in handling department is the one that appeals thr most, so Polo is a good hatch back but the extra 2 lakhs of Polo variant to variant compared with Figo dosent let it compete with Figo hatch back,

Still cant understand why people are so crazy about the Swift, is it that better that one forgets a whole lot of market s best and much more capable and chepaer cars, even more fascinating is the Dzire which sold over 25000 units, what a sorry market, going behind badge nothing else.

Because they are crazy

Yes, but the sales of Tour is only 3,418 ( Maruti Press Release ) so even if you discount that, DZire sales will still be impressive - just a tad lower than A Segment Alto. For a C1 segment vehicle to touch a A segment vehicle sale is truly phenomenal!

Phenominal as the salss is, I recently had a ride in a new Maruto Dzire , and all I can talk about it are negatives
Extremely cramped rear seats
Unscientific boot, too deep and has a huge loading lift,
Pathetic built quality, felt like made out of cardboard paper
Very poor quality stock audio system
Spikey power delivery, felt uncomfortable at times since it jumped off raffic signals
Ride quality is plush at low speeds, up the ante to anything in excess of 80 kmph and there it goes like a boat, and lots of suspension noise and intrusive outer noise, weak cabin insulation as well.
No special comfort or exterior features to set it apart.
Also quiet expensive to buy...
Then how come it sell in such huge huge numbers, YES INDIANs are CRAZY,
The Dzire I took a ride in was just reaching 25k kms on odo and already it had developed a few issues like rear left power windows wont close fully, some minor rattles, ...

Even despite all this the driver was saying, very good car,
I asked him, has he driven Zest Aspire Amaze, or any other car, his reply wss NO
Then how does it become best?
His answer was, everyone has it so ,I too took one and since Maruti is cheap, it gives him peace of mind....
So yes, the herd of Indian population goes by sayings and what they see on road rather than true experience and quality and ability.
Good luck to all the other striving brands in India for being able to push and dig ways into unforseen Indian preconceptual minds.

I praise Hyundai for their efforts and the effort is what brought them to second place with such good numbers. We need other brands. Else the market will be killed by monopoly(if it is already not!).

I'd rather buy Kwid than Swift. Yes, you heard me!! It is much better in terms of rear seat comfort. And I can list a lot more, but I hate to see the sales numbers of Swift siblings reach 35-40k month after month. As you rightly pointed out, people who never drove anything except Alto, says Swift is best. And if ask otherwise, they won't have an answer. No wonder MSIL want to milk Indians.
