Thanks for the help. It’s best if the owner finds it out or I’ll hand it to someone who can care. If nothing works, I’ll get a cage and keep it. The major concern right now is that I don’t have a cage and I’ve kept her in a quite small and dense basket. Can she spend a night in it without hassle?
Not at all.
This is okay for tonight, only thing to be kept nearby window / natural air.
If you decided to keep it, you need to buy a partner.
Hope, she is active. Just check her activities, droppings for diarrhea and whether she eats well.
Regards

@Dr MUDHAN Your help is much appreciated.

No one has claimed the Budgie so far. I’ve bought a cage for it. I’ve never owned a Bird in the past so I’m still figuring out its behavior. She’s turning upside down at the bottom corner of the cage and sometimes biting it.

Probably needs something to play with. How old is she is a question as well. I released her for half an hour in the room. She was mostly hopping in a limited area and doesn’t fly much.

You have a great heart. Everything is okay. That's normal behaviour. We need not worry as long as she eats well, drinks water and normal droppings.
May be we need to find out a companion. You can take a photo of its beak and show to the bird seller to get the opposite sex.

I am sorry, couldn't respond immediately as I use my mobile as webcam for my online sessions.

Stumbled upon a wonderful animal rescue organization “Peepal Farm” through Facebook videos and hooked to them ever since.

They’re located in Dharmshala, Himachal Pradesh. Such organizations need to be encouraged. Perhaps TAI-gers from near HP can visit them as well.

Sharing a few of their videos.

What a wonderful organisation - thank you 350Z, we shall try and follow this set up.. We are still continuing with our extended family in Lucknow, who now number 8 strays.
And tho'meal times are a fraught affair - discipline with a danda has to be maintained to avoid open warfare - it is still great sight to see them running down the street when they see
either of us coming.

There’s a stray cat that I feed. Sometime back it had a small wound near eye. Now the wound isn’t noticeable but area near that eye has developed swelling.

I’m concerned whether it’s serious or will it cure itself with time? This cat doesn’t allow me to touch. What else I can do to help her? I’m also checking with some nearby vets.

Application of Ciplox Eye ointment ( Same Human Medicine) is advisable. If the wound is not deep, it can heal itself. Please handle the cat carefully with a thick gloves or folding your hand with a thick towel .

Need to check the spot whether the wound is not healed or pain persists. In that case we may have to give cat friendly antibiotics and anti inflammatory drugs.

Thanks for the prompt help, Dr.Mudhan. I’ve never touched this cat and she doesn’t like being touched either. Hopefully the wound will heal itself. In case it doesn’t, I’ll try this suggestion.

Since the cat not allowing you to touch her, the only way to treat is to mix some medicine in the milk which you feed her.
Homeopathy has few medicines for the eye injury and swelling. You may try a medicine called 'Apis Mel 30' - pour one drop of the medicine in the milk and let her drink. This medicine has the power to cure any kind of swelling due to injury or even bites.

Good advice. Just need to ensure the said medicine is safe for felines. I’ll cross-check with a vet.

The right way of treating an animal is not that easy like a human. Many animals are sacrificed in the clinical trials before the drugs are tested with human voluntaries. The veterinarians are taught with only Allopathic Medicines but it is more complicated than humans. Not all human drugs will suit animals, even if, it may not suit all the species, even if suits it may not suit all breeds within the species. It needs extra specialization like Feline Specialist, Canine Specialist, Equine Specialist etc., or it needs extra ordinary interest & learning to treat Domestic Pets.

I believe in Modern Medicines complemented by Naturopathy, Ayurveda or Homeopathic systems. It definitely expedites the healing process. Only issue, it needs more research and documentation.
In Veterinary Medical Practice a Veterinarian can learn and practice homeopathy with the help of a practicing homeopath. But it requires lot of research.

Coming to Apis Mel 30 as suggested by Nairrk, I know it’s pharmacodynamics (my father was a practicing Homeopath) that in humans it acts as diuretics on mucous membrane and skin with swelling and effusions, also relieves swelling of eyelids, conjunctiva and eye puffiness. But, I am not sure its efficacy on cats and the right amount of dose.

As Nairrk suggested we can try mixing antibiotics in her favorite feed (Ciprofloxacin/20 milligrams per kilogram of body weight by mouth every 24 hours) OR CIPLOX 250 mg tablet half in the morning and half in the evening, If the swelling persists.

Animals are very clever, sometimes they easily find out. Read here in your Laptop / Desktop , some interesting write up by me, if time permits you to know that how we have to cheat to get them cured !

Great advice Nairrk. I've used Sabal Serrulata(theta) for enlarged prostate on both our male boxers with near-magical effect. Also used Apis Mel-30 & Tarantula Cubensis-30 for skin ailments as well
as bee and wasp sting. The cat has an injured eye and I really hope this works.

Nice to see that you follow Homeo medicines which, if used correctly yield excellent results. Except tooth extraction, I always use and believe in Homeopathy medicine including their ointments.!
