This is a real bad news. I can't even think about travelling without the sunfilms in the hot sun! [pig]

Man
My father just panicked seeing notification in newspaper today. He is saying no point in getting into a mess and police people may damage the car removing films recklessly.
I am going to get the film removed from his official govt of india car also..[frustration]

this is throughout the country and not just delhi.

Guys, you haven't read anything wrong, this is what i have read in today's Times of India and got confirmed from my friends and relatives in New Delhi.
Still,Delhites, can you people please take the pain of collecting and mentioning the limitations of this law?Like how can we still use the films?

I have got the lightest ones(I think its 75% transparent)on my Laura and Corolla that also on just side windows but no film on front or rear windshields.Still will I have to get them removed?
Is it advisable to get the black glass of 75% visibility installed on windows?

Have a look at this piece of foolishness:-
i was just adding this pic , but you already did.

after seeing the add , i'm confused even more[confused]

Most small cars dont have a powerful AC & as it is half of cooling job is done by the sunfilms, now the moment these sunfilms are gone - Everybody will have to switch on AC & struggle with sluggish engines (especially old cars).

Sunfilms gone, AC ON!

The new rule prohibiting sun films from 4th May 2012 is applicable throughout the country.

Delhi traffic police has already declared that they will enforce it strictly. Delhi traffic police's pro-activeness in this matter could be due to the fact that the SC is located in Delhi and judges can easily make out if the new rule is not being enforced by the traffic police which may lead to them being pulled up by SC.

However, the rule may not be implemented strictly in other places, especially in non-metros and rural areas.

Re: Supreme Court Orders – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

a critic of this new sc order argues that
have they done a scientific study to show that criminal activity takes place in cars with sun films of any visibility.
they say that girls are being kidnapped and raped in cars with black tints, ok i can agree to that but what about cars with clear glass and female passengers won't people easily stare at them while they are seated in their cars and make them feel uneasy, while with sun films which are legally approved its not so clear to stare and the female passengers feel a little sense of privacy?
No sun films means more heat radiation into cars translating to more ac use which leads to more usage of fuel which in turn leads to pollution.

what have the cops being doing to cars with unapproved black tints? These cars have stickers of political parties and hence they don't catch them.

terrorist activities, i can have a clear glass load my ammunition in my closed garage and fire away at people, i can train my self to not look suspicious.

malls have various security checks on cars, they open the bonnet do they know what to look at and what seems abnormal? They open the trunk just look around but don't go through the luggage or bags kept there? i can also carry bombs on my self and let it blast in the underground parking. Cause metal detectors are only scanning at the entry to the mall area and not parking areas.

all of us law abiding citizens follow the law, while choosing a film we ask thousand times are these rto approved? The guys with black tints they get it cheap, the cops can remove it and they can fit it back up, but most of us guys look at sun films for heat rejection they cost, we will be in losses, what if while removing it our rear defoggers come of then what do we do?

Valid point put forward by critic. I ahve installed V-Kool sunfilms in feb 2012 tiself worth 18k and thats RTO approved. and now and then these people keep on changing the rules and recur a big loss from this. Just to hide their inability to stop crime rate they are just passing any rule to keep people's mouth shut. :-(
