Hello Raj:
Whats common among both of us is that both of us own a Toyota Innova 'V',we both have the 2006 variant and both of us have crossed 90k kms in the car and whats even great is that WE BOTH ARE HAPPY AND SATISFIED TOYOTA CUSTOMERS..
I have read this thread from the very beginning and I am ready to verify nearly all the information furnished above.
1)The UV is really maintenance free and demands nothing else except the new engine oil on every service(okay ignore some small maintenance).
Which engine oil do you use,I use only shell helix.
2)Ride,handling is great but performance seems to be quite in-adequate.
3)Needs wider tyres and I have got them too.I am currently using wider Bridgestone Turanzas.
4)Body panels are quite weak but still they can be accepted.
5)Really unstable once you cross 120 kph mark but still I have many times done 150+ in my Innova but whats great is that it never goes to 160,I mean it gets stuck somewhere between 150 and 160.I think its top speed is somewhere about 155 kph,or maybe speedo shows it.
6)Try to attain these speeds only when you see a straight road ahead like in most SUVs.But still if you compare to a Scorpio or Safari then controlling and driving an Innova at high speeds is quite an easier affair.
7)BUT ITS REALLY FAR MORE COMFY THAN A SCORPIO OR SAFARI IF YOU ARE DRIVING,THE DRIVE IS QUITE EASIER THAT THE COMPETITION AND IT REALLY HANDLES WELL.
Mine is black in color fitted with black alloys, calipers colored black and rear drum too.At front I have got brushed bull bar(the one which covers only grille but not head/fog lamps)and good fat KCs.Will be posting the pics soon as the UV is out for about 7 days.
I was going to start an Innova impressions thread but now I think,I don't need to do so as already one exists.
Well, sorry to see what your prospective chauffeur has done.I am sure he would have been a younger guy with less experience.
Ours is an 45+ aged man with a lot of driving experience and some god driving skills, although he gets paid quite high but still in his hands the UV is really in a good condition and there are really no complains.
In other words I want to say that for UVs its better to have experienced chauffeurs instead of new guys as they need some extra attention while driving them and also young guys try to make them aeroplanes.
