Wow, Off-roading Bike with "Saree" guard[lol]

How to spoil the look of a Bike!!, Ask Hero Moto corp.

First, They spoiled the sporty Karizma, Then the Muscle CBZ, Now Passion. Good Going Hero [anger]

BTW, I'm a die hard fan of Hero Honda. All my bikes which I have owned is from Hero Honda only. But, now there is not even a single bike attracts me from Hero :(

Of FE I can't say but coming to performance I can safely say that older vehicles had more of the 'raw' power available as compared to these higher 'bhp' ratings of current engines. Thanks to tightening emission norms - that raw power is lost now.

Ya sure in fact I'll be more than happy in explaining it all to you - only if you don't slip into comma while bearing me(no pun intended)

Look at this picture:

These are the older as well as newer designs of same cylinder block. Red represents high temperature and blue represents lower temperature while yellow-green and all represent felling temperature. This is actually a CFD - Heat flow analysis with heat source being at the center and it shows:
Red - Yellow - Green - Blue order of felling temperature. Now you can see the cooling pattern in older and well as new designed cylinder block if air is striking from the visible face.

If you wish I can do the complete CFD analysis for you(on this as well as other designs) but it will take me time as designing will take a day, then putting it all into Altair and meshing as well as solving will take an another day to get the results and I am short of time itself.

BTW, I hope now it's clear to you that what's different in these fins of Bajaj Discover now.

'Older' CBZ - 'Older' is the key word here. That motorcycle is my first love. But Xtreme is not built that strong by any ways.

But then their braking is also better, ZMR by every way brakes better than P220 while P220 rides on softer tires and ZMR runs on regular ones.

I am thinking how much time the clutch of this 100cc bike will take to burn in off road situations. it's not for no reason that companies prefer to give either bigger engines or lower ratio gearbox to their off road vehicles.

That steel cage is available in aftermarket since years for some hundred bucks.

Wow! Thats a lot of info i never had any idea about!! Thanks TSIVipul!! [clap]

Thanks vipul for the information. After effectes of the shortage of fins in Air cooled engine i expereienced almost 13-15 years before in Hero hoda splendour(Models came after 2000) itself. we had a 2001 model splendour in my college days. At that time i had squeezed the max power from that engine and the bike will be run in between 70-100 km/hr at the most of the time. In the hotter days, after a 50km ride, engine will feel lke it will melt down in minutes and the 3 & 4 gears will like same. when we stop for a cool drink brake, we were buy additional soda/water and pour on engine just to cool the engine and wait for another 5 mints before start again.

I agree on Older CBZ. i started riding on that bike.

Regarding Tires of ZMR & P220, both were came on MRF zapper tires right? though P220 had bigger zapper 17' tires, ZMR came with the puny 18' Zapper Y tires which should skid in any sudden brakes.
It'll be the huge power/torque and the poor rear disc brake setup of P220 is the real reason, you feel ZMR is better i guess.

Like amtak told, hero may be aiming the poor guys who had to daily ride in bad roads(like in Kerala[frustration]) so the grill may save the head light from the stones which may fly when other heavey vehicles go faster in front of us. Also that handle bar cover 'may be' save your hands too.

You should thank hero for providing this. Other companies are already stopped providing this as part of bike due to cost cutting.

I am not sure about other states, But in Kerala, every bike required a saree guard, ladies handle, number plates for registeration.
