aristo apart from what the console shows. when you did the calculations manually how much fe did you end up at? yeap brakes are pretty good they never skid or screatch, did 130km/h feel any bouncy for you?
I filled the tank when I started from Chennai and then, I filled it again when I started Madurai. The second time I filled the tank, it was around 29 litres. So literally I have used 29 litres for Chennai to Trichy to Madurai. This will include about 440 kms in highway and about 40 kms within city. The traffic in Trichy city was horrible - I had to be stagnant for about 40 mins with AC on (thanks to CMs Trichy visit). Taking all those into considerations, my FE is 16.55 kmpl. I guess if I don't consider the Trichy city traffic the highway only mileage would easily be 17 - 18 kmpl.

To be frank I didnt fell any bounce in the car at 130kmph. The car was as footed as ever. And the amazing fact is, when I was experimenting 130 kmph another fluidic verna just whizzed past me [:)] may be he was hitting 150 kmph. But NH 45 is newly laid and it is of international quality (this highway is as good as some Interstate Highways in the US).

Interesting stats there aristo 16.5 kmpl does seem factual. Also nick 7 kmpl in city is weird I get 11 kmpl average in city!

Also the point being from the time the fuel light glows you have an average of 50 Kms on the DTE that is including the 2 ltr blinker notification.

was this including some spirited driving or sedate driving? ill be doing a 30 km freeway drive in a while lets see again. its rather weird that by tire upsize only the fe be different by a huge amount.

To be frank - this was sedate driving. I did not let the car go beyond 2000 rpms in the first 4 gears and did not cross 90 kmph (around 2500 to 3000 rpm in 5th gear) except for a couple of times when I did 130 kmph.

I maintained tyre pressure of 32 psi on all wheels. AC was on auto mode - 22 degrees and re circulation mode.

I wanted to add to this - on the way to Madurai we had about 7 tollgates with huge speed breaker and my Verna didnt bottom out on any of these bumps. I did see a Honda City which was crawling over one of the speed breakers in the tollgate and still it bottomed out. Ha Ha Ha - got a chance to laugh at a rival [gun]

city has lower gc my neighbors new anhc has left its marks on most speed breakers. say out of 10 breakers in my area, 6-7 have scraped the city and 2-3 have scraped mine with full loads, with only 2 or single passenger just scrapes 1.

Another weird thing that I noticed - My car had to go through a big pothole at high speed (say 95kmph). This bump came all of a sudden in the high way and I couldnt avoid it. The car went over it with a "thad" sound but the weird thing was it turned on the wiper automatically [confused]. Any guesses why??

oh aristo this was what i have been facing a lot. The steering gives a jerk ad cause the wiper to fall into position 1. have to switch it of. Loud thud right? i get that over speed breakers at 15-20km/h its pretty loud and feels like your suspension hit somewhere.
hey on the bright side we have bump sensing wipers kool noe?

btw i had told my service centre of this they could not understand it. Told me they would check into it, and later said its fine. even on a trial i pointed out to that noise and wiper starting the service advisor said its normal happens in every car.

there are other guys who have faced this. I don't really know how any pothole impact will cause the steering to jerk. the noise comes from the left side front

The problem here is the steering is adjustable only for tilt and since it's a half blown formula I'm not surprised the wipers get turned on. Yep nick ur right on the dot it's a speed break sensing wipers!

Nothing against the city but it's got some liking to all speed breakers!

i suppose there is some issues with the steering components or lower arm as i have read online, its not normal for a steering to jerk. There are people online with these issues on various but now new out of the showroom cars. This steering jerks can pose as safety issues cause sometimes we can get shocked.

till date there are only 2 minor service bulletins/campaigns put out for our car. one is the torquing the control arm bolts and other is replacing the positive battery terminal on a few batches. Nothing more, and even if they put another one out we won't be informed till we go in for our services.

A bump sensing suspension would have come in more handy than a bump sensing wiper - ha ha I love this smiley [frustration] and Nick is the one who is using it a lot [:)]

oh aristo i bang my head on the steering the wall and the window when i see my fe. as well as when it bottoms out or the bump sensing wipers come on. heck i guess its made for india since we do have potholes filled with water and it may splash on windscreen.

so bazooka if it was a telescopic steering i guess i would have punched us a lot right? like a bump.. thad.. steering pops into your chest. ouccch
