I too own a fabia 1.6 mpi which has given me over 2 years' trouble free service so far (except for a faulty ABS sensor on front left wheel replacement of which cost me 4k ). I love driving the car for long distances and cruising at 3 digit speeds is just routine and the other passengers dont even feel it. I heard that skoda may bring the new version of fabia to India soon. Looking forward to it.
