Simple Energy has expanded its portfolio with the launch of a new electric scooter called OneS. Priced at Rs 1,39,999, the Simple OneS is Rs 6,217 more affordable than the now discontinued Dot One which was priced at Rs 1,46,216 (both ex-showroom). OneS will be available across all 15 Simple Energy showrooms in Bangalore, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Vizag, Kochi, and Mangalore.
Speaking on the occasion of the launch of OneS, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder & CEO, Simple Energy, said, “At Simple Energy, we believe that innovation is a journey, not a destination. And hence, we are absolutely elated to launch Simple OneS that gives you the best possible range under this price segment. Our focus has always been on pushing the boundaries of technology to create smarter solutions, and the scooter is a testament to that.”
The Simple OneS shares the same design language as the Simple One, featuring an angular headlight, sharp body panels, and a sloping seat with a raised tail section. Its overall sporty design gives it an appealing and dynamic look. The Bengaluru-based EV startup is offering the OneS in four colour options namely Brazen Black, Grace White, Azure Blue and Namma Red.
When it comes to features, the Simple OneS packs loads of gizmos including a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard offering Bluetooth connectivity along with customizable themes, app integration, turn-by-turn navigation, and over-the-air updates, enhancing rider convenience. The scooter also comes equipped with an embedded 5-G sim that provides internet through Wifi.
Additional features offered in the Simple OneS include Find My Vehicle, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), regenerative and rapid braking systems, and new Park Assist function, with both forward and reverse movement. Simple claims the new OneS to be a significant step-up over the Dot One.
For starters, the OneS gets a 3.7kWh fixed battery pack that promises a range of 181 km on a single charge, 21 km more than the outgoing Dot One. The battery delivers energy to an 8.5kW electric motor. There are four ride modes on offer: Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. As for performance, the OneS can clock a top speed of 105 kmph and sprint from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.5 seconds in Sonic mode, which is 0.22 seconds quicker than the Dot One and One.
Last month, the company introduced the Gen 1.5 version of the Simple One, featuring an extended IDC range of 248 km—an increase from the 212 km range of Gen 1—making it India’s longest-range electric two-wheeler. Moving forward, the company aims to expand its footprint across 23 states with 150 new stores and 200 service centers.
