Simple One electric scooter updated, priced at Rs 1.66 lakh

Simple Energy has updated its One electric scooter, which now has an IDC-claimed range of 248km. However, the company hasn’t increased prices; the One continues to be priced at Rs 1.66 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

The Simple One has a total battery capacity of 5kWh, which is split into two packs – a fixed 3.7kWh unit and a portable 1.3kWh pack. While the scooter mostly remains the same mechanically, the company has been able to increase the range to 248km via some nifty electronic trickery and a more efficient drivetrain. At 136kg, the Simple One is one of the heavier electric scooters, and with a 796mm seat height, it is also one of the taller ones.

Some new features that have been bundled in with this update include a tyre pressure monitor, regenerative braking and a USB charging port. Currently, Simple has a small network of just 10 dealerships across the country, but the company says that it plans to open 150 showrooms and 200 service stations by end-FY2026.
