Simple Energy to kick start Simple One production at Simple Vision 1.0 plant in Tamil Nadu

Simple Energy’s recently inaugurated plant Simple Vision 1.0 in Tamil Nadu will commence production of Simple ONE.

Located at Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu; the manufacturing unit is spread across 2,00,000 square feet. The company claims that the facility is equipped with tGeneral Assembly Line, India’s first patented in-house motor manufacturing line, a battery manufacturing line along with other facilities like cell storage, CAL (Customer Acceptance Line).

Simple Energy additionally emphasised that the factory to be one of the safest manufacturing plants in the country with testing facility for its in-house vehicle testing.

Suhas Rajkumar, Founder & CEO, of Simple Energy, said, “The inauguration of Simple’s first manufacturing unit in Shoolagiri, TN is a stepping stone for the future expansion plans and setting up a well-equipped plant that will commence the production of Simple One electric scooter.”

Simple Vision 1.0 is built with an initial investment of Rs 100 crore. It has the capability to manufacture up to 1million unit of vehicles annually, as per the company statement. The plant also aims to provide employment to 700+ people locally, and looks forward to have a gender-inclusive workforce.

Simple Energy has disclosed in a press statement that it will launch two new affordable electric scooters in the coming quarter. The new e-scooters will be positioned below the flagship Simple One.

Simple Energy to open 6 new showrooms

Simple Energy, an Indian electric vehicle start-up, has announced plans to open six new showrooms, known as "Simple Stores," within the next month. These brick-and-mortar stores will be operated by the company’s official network partners. The company's primary product is the Simple Dot One electric scooter that starts at Rs 1,40,499. The brand plans to compete with the likes of Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X. The company also offers a more affordable Simple One electric scooter.

The new showrooms will be located in Vijayawada, Bangalore, Pune, and Goa, marking the first phase of Simple Energy's retail expansion. The scheduled opening dates for the showrooms are:

-Vijayawada (Veterinary Colony) - 25th August
-Bangalore (JP Nagar, Rajajinagar, and Marathahalli) - 29th August, 31st August, and 2nd September
-Panjim, Goa - 7th September
-Kharadi, Pune - 11th September

Simple Energy will be responsible for designing the retail spaces and experience centres for its dealership partners. These showrooms aim to offer an experience-led environment where customers can interact with the company’s electric scooters, including the Simple One and Simple Dot One models.

Commenting on the expansion, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, described the new stores as spaces where customers can engage with the brand's focus on innovation and sustainability.

Rajkumar said, "We're excited to open the doors to the Simple Stores, where the future of mobility comes to life. These spaces are designed to not only showcase our offerings- Simple One and Simple Dot One electric vehicles but also to provide an immersive experience that connects our customers with the innovation and sustainability at the heart of our brand.”

Simple Energy claims it has produced 95 per cent of its scooter components in-house, and it is reportedly the only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India with a dedicated motor manufacturing line. The company's production facility in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, covers 200,000 square feet.

The Simple One, with a certified range of 212 km, and the Simple Dot One, with a 151 km range, are currently being delivered in Bangalore as part of a pilot phase. The company has plans to expand its retail network with 45 dealerships across India by the end of the financial year

Simple Energy offers 8 year warranty for battery and motor

Simple Energy, an Indian electric start-up, has introduced its Simple Protect and Simple Super Protect extended warranty programs. Simple Protect covers the battery, while Simple Super Protect covers both the battery and motor.

With this offering, Simple Energy becomes the first electric two-wheeler company in India to provide an 8-year or 60,000-kilometre warranty (whichever comes first) on its motor, along with its electric scooter battery. Simple Energy claims to have designed the batteries with various safety parameters for optimum performance under real-world conditions.These processes contribute to the extended warranty period, which aims to offer reassurance to potential electric vehicle buyers.
