Friends, here is one from my Indigo manza ownership thread. Tata has purchased jaguar .and jaguar had received many awards for providing No. one ASS in Europe in the past .I remember a news read somewhere that TATA wants to follow jaguar on ASS front at that time .

TATA ' S ATTEMPT TO GO JAGUAR WAY.
Venue: National Autowheels TASS, PUNE. Date 12 or 13 jan,12, 9:30 am

Watchman received us, receptionist confirmed prior appointment, offered me tea,
SA ( somshankar) .

I went inside, where SA s were sitting, I had confusion in my mind about Running-in period, (till how many km?)
SA said, running in means do not cross 80 km/hr.
I asked, how long?
ANS : it is for lifelong period, you must have read on E way /national highways that the speed limit is 80 km.

Other SA rescued him, saying that running-in is done at factory only!

Another senior one, rescued both of them, saying that the Running-in is done at the time of PDI, neither the factory nor the custemer' s bussiness.
I wanted to see the pdi man, he was not there.

So I ran amok, only to return back next morning.
friends , could not insert smilies here as only two are allowed, And the word' smilies' would contradict the scene here.
Coming back soon...

I had this funny incident with TASS, Actually I was burning in anger at that time, but later realized it was really funny response from them.

There was some squeaking noise from Punto's front suspensions whenever I pass the high bumper. TASS resolved it 4 times, but the noise is still there. When I went there last time, I was promised delivery at 4 PM , but I got the same at 8.

So I went there and took TD to check, whether it has been resolved or not. One SA accompanied me.

Me : The noise is still present.
SA : Sir please drive for bit more distance and noise was still there on higher bumpers.

Then we came back to TASS.

SA to Senior : Sir there is some noise in suspensions spring.
Senior to Me : Sir, the noise is because of the tension generated on the spring, and when then tension is released, the squeaking noise comes. [lol]

For a moment I thought I was attending Physics class and also was confused that if this was the explanation, then what they were trying to fix from last 4 times. [frustration]

Left TASS and never ever visited them again.

once my car was giving jerks (which was due to engine misfire) so went to a service station(third party one which services all types of car ) they changed the contact breaker and said it would run fine now
but after a 30 km run that jerking issue resurfaced and used to occur randomly and hence took my car to them.
the mechanic who replaced contact breaker could'nt rectify and called a senior SE .

SE: sir carb is fully choked , petrol is not efficiently transferred to cylinders.

ME: but , i can easily cruise at 80-90 kmph

he checked the radiator by touching it and said engine was overheating

SE: sir ,radiator is clogged which is causing the issue to resurface again , sir get radiator replaced and get carb cleaned , it will solve the prob at once and give an estimate of 6000rs
he was totally reluctant to agree that it was due to engine misfire.
took my car from there and asked a local mechanic to check HT wires from ignition coil which were the culprit prob solved for 500rs

Now I understood why Premier Rio is not selling..
Probably they get 1 Rio per dealership, until they sell it they will not get another one, hence no test drive [clap]

"Tata makes "marcedez Banz" also -from mouth of a Tata technician."

If I am not wrong MBIL had some time up with Tata in Pune when they first launched cars in India back in 90's. I do not know what is the status now, others can enlighten on that.

Cheers,
Anshuman

Hahaha dude "Probably they get 1 Rio per dealership, until they sell it they will not get another one, hence no test drive" hahahahaha could explain sooooo much

A few months back when we were just looking around at a few premium hatch backs the a Chevy dealer then the sail had not launched so we had just seen the liva and were seeing the beat the SA is "Sir Liva bahut chota hai Beat se, Peeche logo ko bahut suffocation lagega Humari gaadi better hai aur sasta bhi hai" (Sir Liva is very small compared to the Beat, people at the back will feel suffocated our car is much better and cheaper). I was like has this guy ever seen a Liva before he is talking and I was confused whether to laugh at this comment or feel sad for his stupidity.

Yes. The first E Class launched in India in the 1990s (W124) had Tata and MB collaborating together (there were stories of Tata dealers treating MB customers like they treated their truck customers). They broke up (good thing, no?) and MB stated its own operations with the launch of the W210.

@vijay:The last time I checked the WagonR website, the CNG version was indeed not available in VXi trim. I don't think the SA was wrong in what he said.

I went to KHT Motors in Indiranagar to enquire about the Nano Special edition. I asked the executive where the rear FOG lamps are present. She said they are inside the tail lamps.

Later I check online forum and got to know that they are near the rear number plate.

Another experience was with KHT Motors Kundanahalli. I was checking regarding the seat covers. The sales executive said:
1. Black color fabric covers cost Rs.3000
2. Art.Leather cost Rs.4000
3. Beige color fabric costs Rs.6000

Later I check with other dealers and go to know that Tata does not make Beige color fabric covers for Nano and the KHT fellow was bluffing!

Last Saturday I went to test drive the Safari (Dicor, not Storme).

The SA was explaining me the features of the vehicle:

"Sir, the Storme comes with Hydroformed chassis while this has a monokok (sic) chassis"

TSIVipul, Iron Rock, Raja, please bow to the first monocoque Tata SUV :p !!
