Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) is an apex national body representing all major vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

• The objectives of SIAM include enhancing the contribution of automobile industry to the growth and development of Indian economy.
• SIAM assists the automobile industry to meet its social obligations and encouraging the efficiency of industry in general and automobile industry particularly in India.
• The society focuses on activities related to improvement of environment and ensuring safety and protection of automobile vehicle users and public at large.
• Recognising these objectives, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers has been granted registration under the Income Tax Act, 1961 as an institution with charitable purpose.

This thread is created with the purpose to share all developments about SIAM in single place. Starting with the recent one, the Executive Committee of SIAM has elected Shailesh Chandra as it’s new President for 2024-25.

• Shailesh Chandra is currently the Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd.
• Shailesh Chandra, who previously served as the Vice President of SIAM, succeeds Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Ltd.
• The members of SIAM also elected Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO, Ashok Leyland Ltd., as the Vice President of SIAM for 2024-25.
• Satyakam Arya, CEO & MD, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles was elected as the Treasurer of SIAM for 2024-25.
