After using for some time, it did not turn out to be of much use. Pedal extenders are only for slightly shorter women. My wife is much shorter, and hence my wife is using cushions.

Please post some full-sized pictures of your wife sitting in the driver's seat and I can recommend what would be the best solution for your wife. [:)]
Thanks Sid,

I will try to post the picture.. mean while if possible you can share the institute address or phone number for the pedal extension.

The most probable places to get the pedal extenders now would be a Maruti Driving School in your city. But, there might be no reason to spend 500-700 rupees unnecessarily for such small devices.

Yes, you can post a full picture of your wife in the driver's seat and I'll let you know what is best to use. [thumbsup]

The right foot is used for both accelerator and clutch and hence might get a little uncomfortable and even unsafe with a high base sandals.

It all depends on the height. Some women have short legs, some women have short back, and some women have short legs and short back. Hence, posting a picture in the driver's seat would show a lot of information! Then we can tell you if your wife would need pedal extenders, mechanical seat adjustments, or simply use a few cushions! I donot see any reason for you to ask others to put pictures of their wife when you yourself have not provided the same for your problem.

So, please refrain from asking to put pictures of others wife as it doesn't suit this forum decorum.

I understand your good motive to help other but everybody may not take this positively.

Thank you for all your replies. I finally managed to get hold of pedal extenders from Fortis! Phew! My wife can finally reach the pedals comfortably. Now, it looks like the last problem remaining is that my wife needs to see over the steering wheel. I have suggested her to sit on one medium cushion just enough to have her line of sight above the steering wheel, but she is adamant of using two cushions. I am not sure if this might pose any problem. Does anyone have any photographs of how a short wife should use cushions to increase their driving visibility?
Hi, I have been looking for pedal extenders in India with no luck! And you got one from Fortis. Did you get it custom-made or do they have a standard size? And how long did they take for delivery? If it is not too much of a difficulty, could you please post a picture of the pedal extenders? Thanks in advance!

If your foot can somewhat reach the pedals now, using the racing pedals (longer than stock pedals) may solve your issue.
If you need a bit more of length, use the gas pedals from the racing pedal set to replace clutch, and brake pedals too.
But if they are available only in sets you may need to buy 3 sets[roll].

If at all you want to go for pedal extenders you may contact those who custom modify cars for disabled people.
(Sorry, please take it in the right spirit and sense[cry]). The reason is they will have good expertise in dealing with custom pedals.
You can get their contact from car dealers itself.
