Hello Naganand: The VMS message for fuel low is " Your Scorpio is running on reserve fuel".
The 1st warning would be for 10 litres it repeats 2 times.
The next warning for 8 litres once, then next warning is for 5 litres.
Which after this warning no owner will take risk and get it filled:biggrin:

And regarding the speed limit now you have unlocked the engine and can do 3 digits.
But i did not cross 120kmph during my initial running upto 5k kms.

Other VMS is "Careful your Handbrake is Engaged"
"Careful one of the door is opened, please check"
And aren't you getting the welcome Message from your hawk , after 12 hours of parking?

The mileage on my last trip to Mangalore was 11.85 kmpl with AC in ghats and full load in car, 7 members + lugggae on top.
In city may be around 9.5kmpl.

On GQ's i have managed to get 13.5 kmpl with constant 90-110 kmph.

When in car i forget something called mileage and drive.

1st gear 0-10kmph.
2nd gear 20-40 kmph.
3rd gear 50-80 kmph.
4th gear 90-100 kmph.
5th gear 100 to .......... kmph.

This is on highway , usually above 80 kmph you can shift to 5th gear.
And engage cruise control.

With cruise i have been able to get 13.85 kmpl.
That's the maximum i have got with full load.

In city i never use turbo, the RPM level's will be well within 2500 rpm.

Planning to upgrade the headlights:
The stock ones are just enough but need more power for highways. I was blanked out thrice on Malavalli road by private buses.
Can we upgrade the stock to 100/90 with relay/holders? Will it void warranty?
OR
Just fit Philips Xtreme Powere 80+ with same wattage. Heard some good feedback.

And current fog lamps are just a show for now.
I am sure it wont serve the purpose in foggy/heavy rains.
Having Hella Rallye solve this issue?
Normally what wattage we should look for fog lamps.
55W or 100W?

Please advice.

Naganand i have got 90/100 Bulbs on my car, from Philips.

I got it done at the SKS.
It would not void the warranty and get it done at the A.S.S.
The current fog lamp in my car is doing the job very well in foggy conditions.

@mukesh:
Thanks for inputs. I will try 100/90 setup. Only issue I see is about installation. I am looking for no wire cutting just plug-n-play setup with relays and ceramic holders. Hopefully, I should get hold of Hella relay, ceramic holders to withstand the heat.
Checked with IG service folks. They are not ready to do it.

Heard even Philips Xtreme Power is also a good bet if someone does not want to tamper the OEM wires.

BTW, yesterday completed 2nd tank full. Filled 50ltrs of diesel and trip a ODO read 701kms. Overall avg of 14kmpl. Its 620kms of highway and remaining within city from last week. Total kms covered 1460kms.

Planning for visiting Namakkal temple OR chikmagalur this weekend.

I have some problem with electric fuel lid. It just does not open and gets stuck. Even yesterday i used manual open rather than electric ones.

Should I keep engine on for this to work or is it some other funda?

Nope it opens up easliy, no issues with it.
No need of switching on the engine.
If it doesn't opens up alternate option is to pull the wire near the rear seat.

I haven't gone for Hella's as my fog lamp serves the purpose and i don't want to blur the opposite vehicles by using those extra bulbs.

The stock bulbs were replaced by Philips Rally Bulb, which was done @ SKS Auto, they only assured that it won't hamper warranty, they will not cut the wires, they will draw an extra wire without cutting the existing wire, with ceramic holders and a relay for negligible power loss.

Yesterday, took my rhino to IG Service center on Victoria Road for small niggles like:
1) Fuel Lid not opening
2) Autolock does not work after starting the engine. Right from the delivery this was not working. Thought this would work anyways.
3) Dashboard Vibration
4) Full Body wash and cleaning as I did 2 back to back trips (KushalNagar and Namakkal) fully loaded. Hence lots of dirt inside the car.
BTW, covered 2200kms till now. I am enjoying every km I drive with this beast.

The service manager Hemanth gave a free body wash as complimentary. The car was washed with good care. Fixed the fuel lid opener, dashboard vibration. Interiors were cleaned very much to my expectation.
However, when SA trying to fix the autolock did something which made the fuse to blow. Now the parking/fog lights are not working at all. Not sure what the issue was.

I may have to go today as well. How come fixing autolock would blow the fuse off parking lights?

Will keep updated.

I think A.S.S have gone to dogs now a days. People are least bothered to fix the technical glitches which are simple. Other than IG, I may have to try Chrome Motors on Mysore road or SKS Bg road. Any suggestions?

I am definitely not giving IG for service intervals.

BTW, whats the engine oil used for Scorpio SLE? whats the oil change intervals?
Earlier for Swift D, I had used "Mobil Delvac MX 15W 40". It kept my engine very smooth for long. Of course, oil change for every 5000kms.

I hope I can use Mobil Delvac MX 15W 40. Or is the recommended oil grade different for Scorpio? I still have 5 ltr can of Mobil MX.

Better stay away from Chrome motors, they are still new to servicing.
If you want to give your car for testing their skills, you can go there.[lol]
Was just joking, For me SKS is nearer instead of that busy Mysore road.

I am with SKS since my 4th Service, and now every employee is familiar to me.
I have become a noted fellow over there.

Earlier it was maximile crown, they used to fill my hawk.

And even i thought of going for Mobil 1 Delvac, and mailed it to CC of M&M Mumbai, they asked me why was i particular on that brand?

And later they told me that the brands M&M suggest has been tested for years and engine runs smoothly.

So i thought to go with M&M Maximile which is of Indian Oil Corporation tie up with M&M.

During my last service the engine oil was filled with Valvoline, though it was 500 Rs more than Maximile.

So i have never bothered about engine oil after these conversations.

If you have you can request them to fill the oil of same grade, you need 6 litres of oil, But they charge you for 7 litres as the 0.6 litres are used for cleaning the remaining old oil.

And the CAN you get is of 7 litres.

Oil change interval:
1st change at 5,000 kms.
2nd change at 20,000 kms.

Then subsequent changes at 15,000 kms interval.

1. How many Kilometers once, does the Engine Oil, Oil Filter and Diesel Filter needs to be replaced?

Air filter needs replacement every 40,000 kms.
Fuel filter every 20,000 kms.
Oil filter every 20,000 kms.

2. The SA mentioned about 'Top-up', engine oil once in 5000 Kms. Is 'Topping-up' recommended?
Engine oil needs to be replaced every 15000 kms. No top up required.

It has already been discussed in this thread:http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...io-m-hawk-one-year-ownership-4.html#post54799

Thanks a lot Mukesh. May be I will give SKS BG road for first service.
Let me know who is the technical guy(SA) out there whom I can depend on and talk to.
Normally, I have heard M&M Maximile Supreme & Premium. Supreme oil for MHawk and Premium for MDI. Anyways, let me check with the manual.

Yes that's the Oil, Maximile Supreme C2, but gear oil is Maximile crown...

You can speak to the Manager Ramesh of SKS, they will assign you SA.
The best SA there would be Ramalingaiah, followed by Prasad.

I will PM you his no.

You have intended not to receive PM, enable it to receive the no.
