Thanks for update. Hyundai has stated that it is the introductory price. Therefore, we should expect a price hike after sometime. ARAI claimed FE of Elantra is 22.7 Kpl (1.6 Diesel) and 16.3 Kpl (1.8 Petrol). Again, Hyundai has hit the sweet spot. New Elantra is likely to be another runaway success. The competition better watch out.

You are right I agree with you but people who also care for engine and driving dynamics will think otherwise .

Hyundai has been very good at pricing and killing of competition. Few cases I remember where I thought otherwise and later proved wrong.
1) Thought Matiz would do better than Santro. All know what happened
2) Again thought new Fiesta would do well against Verna. Verna ate Fiesta (& few others) for breakfast, lunch and dinner
3) Elantra Diesel at this price point, a few more RIP announcements coming up.

i don't believe in this. every company does this to create hype and to sell car in black.

Went for a test drive with many joy but came out disappointed, There are few things which i would like to list out
*Looks he looks better, sleek and even more stylish than all in this segment
*Looks can decieve you and that is true, was more than hesitant to take him for more than 2 kms, asked the SA that if we can drive back even before we hit the highway as he was insisting us to check for the highway behaviour, the car was only with 316 KMS on odo but the petrol engine was so lifeless and felt very light in steering![[frustration]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Frustration.gif "Frustration [frustration]")

*The diesel variant had a good engine grunt and expected it to be better, left to the highway and felt initially good on the torque

Very much disappointed, if someone wants a sexy looking car with a bit trendy features you can go for it, but still i dont find a point why this one
