Thats a very nice colour ,i have seen them in person & i am in love with that colour,I love the design of the armrest with the handbrake integrated into it,So congrats & wishing you many more miles.

Well on the other hand if you had a higher budget the Superb would make a good back seat car but the Passat is the one to pick if you drive it yourself,I get to drive my friends Passat Highline once in a while, the power & paddle shifters(sport mode) are an intoxicating mix, pretty well equipped also,my friend cancelled his E-Class booking & picked it up.Probably when your old enough to drive you can coax your dad to get something more powerful. HI Buddy check this link. This may help:

Anti Corrosion & Rust Protection Treatments

You can also check with your ASS for the same.
As you had said Marun I called up the showroom and came to know that the Laura comes with Underbody Protective Cover and Rough road package.

Thanx buddy! [:)] My dad has his eyes set on a powerful SUV for the next purchase though i try convincing him that it'll be not much of an use for a family of 3 and specially for a family which has hardly an interest in Off-roading or something. Anyways my dad likes to be driven around rather than driving around but he does take the Laura out at early mornings and late nights for some spirited driving.

Nice ride, always loved the Laura especially the RS
Thanks man! If we had to go for a petrol in this segment with a tighter budget it had to be the the Laura RS. Have heard a lot about the TSIs , the TDIs and the DSGs hope i get to drive them around next year after my birthday.[:D]

Yeah the TSI is a great motor,I own a 2009 ambiente but it was only available in ambiente at that time so it lacks features but performs like a rocket

Great news for Skoda after our decision of buying the Laura L&K and having a 6-month problem free heavy usage of the car 3 father's colleagues also decided to book the Laura L&K. [clap]

My Skoda Laura just completed 40,000kms. *Touchwood* the car hasn't had any niggles till date!. The car has been serviced twice Once at 15,000kms and again at 30,000kms. Both the servicing costed approx 12k. The cars been kept completely stock. The car had met with a minor accident in which an immature and inexperienced SUV driver hit our Left-ORVM while overtaking. It broke into 4-5 pieces. The whole unit had to be replaced which costed us a hefty 18.5k! wasn't a minor accident any more! The car has done 20-25 times Pune-Mumbai , twice Pune-Surat, 7 times Pune-Shirdi, once Pune to Karde(Near Dapoli) and twice to Alibaug & Lonavala. The car has a daily running of 40km, VimanNagar-MIT College(Kothrud) and back. At 9am with decent traffic the car gives a mileage of 18.6kmpl!!![clap] and while returning at 6pm gives a mileage of 16.5kmpl and on highway runs 20-21 is achieved easily!. The car has been absolutely Superb at 4lakhs cheaper[;)]. Will be soon doing trips to Matheran, Goa and Pune-Jamshedpur-Kolkata. Will surely update this thread. Its been few months since i turned 18 and just waiting for my dad to let me drive this beauty one day.

Wow thats a good usage of the car,but seems the DSG is not abused that mush since it was casual highway driving,
From what i hear the clutch lasts around 35000 to 40000 km & the price for the clutch is around 75000 if i remember right.
Just a heads up ,keep watch over the Ac as its know to loose fluid & burn the ac motor out.

The DSG clutch is expensive for new Octavia its 95000 including labour etc,my friend had enquired as he wanted to buy New Octavia with DSG.
In manual clutch set is 45000, your car should be seeing a clutch change soon as 40,000 km is usually when both manual & dsgs are up for replacement.
So you can safely expect a 75000 bill for clutch replacement, considering 18k was what you paid for the mirror the clutch price should hardly surprise you.

But as luxury cars the Laura was a good value car along with new Octavia & Jetta considering price people pay for Audi A4's which are usually 14 lakhs pricier ,considering engine and other parameters of the car are on same level. One should not cry too much about maintaining these cars. I went & checked out the new upgraded Jetta but was put off by the sales experience , but still they are great cars & such bills can always be expected.

No Anshuman. May be it is costlier to maintain a automatic one. I own a Gen1 Octavia which has done 86K kms with stock slutch and it is not expensive to maintain really. May be the ASS is making them expensive to maintain :). Dont have any idea about the new octavia though

Your clutch must be gone for sure, its just the Flywheel which is saving you,its a bad risk you are taking! The clutch mite shatter & leave you stranded also giving you a bigger repair bill!!!!.
Your clutch must feel hard as a rock to press no doubt.

My dad's friend, who owns a Superb TDI 2011 version, has clocked more than 60K Km in almost 3 years and he didn't face any problems with DSG box,I guess. And,my dad's friend who has Octavia 2006 version and done more than 1.4L Km,said,Octavia is cheaper to maintain. When I checked the bill of 1.2L Km of the same vehicle, the bill was just Rs.7500.Im shocked. No engine problems so far touchwood for that Octavia. Our Vento TDI,costs us about Rs.10,000 and no problems with VW.
