Petrol prices rise for 5th consecutive day. Check revised rates across metro cities

Petrol prices across metro cities witnessed hike on the fifth consecutive day on Monday, while the diesel prices remained constant for the sixth day in continuation.
As per the Indian oil website, the petrol rates in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai were Rs 74.05/litre, Rs 76.74/litre, Rs 79.71/litre and Rs 76.97/litre respectively. The diesel rates, which have remained unchanged for six consecutive days are -- Rs 65.79/litre, Rs 68.20/litre, 69.01/litre and 69.54/litre respectively.

Petrol Rates Soar On 6th Consecutive Day, Diesel Up Too

Accordingly the petrol prices in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata have seen a hike of 15 paise/litre, and in Chennai the rise is of 16 paise/litre. The diesel rates in all the four metro cities has increased by 5 paise/litre.

As per the Indian oil website, the petrol rates in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai were Rs 74.20/litre, Rs 76.89/litre, Rs 79.86/litre and Rs 77.13/litre respectively. The diesel prices, which remained unchanged for six consecutive days, however showed an increase on Tuesday and the new rates were Rs 65.84/litre, Rs 68.25/litre, 69.06/litre and 69.59/litre respectively.

Petrol price rose by 10 paise in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai and by 11 paise in Chennai while diesel became cheaper by 6 paise in delhi and Kolkata and by 7 paise in Mumbai and Chennai. In the last three days, petrol became costlier by 34 paise in Delhi while diesel became cheaper by 11 paise in just two days.

According to the website of the Indian Oil Corporation, petrol was available in Delhi at Rs 74.54 per litre, in Kolkata at Rs 77.22 a litre, in Mumbai at Rs 80.20 a litre and in Chennai at Rs 77.49 a litre on Sunday. Similarly, diesel prices across the four metropolitan cities are - Rs 65.73 per litre in Delhi, Rs 68.14 a litre in Kolkata, Rs 68.94 a litre in Mumbai and Rs 69.47 a litre in Chennai on Sunday.

Petrol prices continued to rise for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday, while diesel prices remained stable for the second consecutive day.

In these five days, petrol has become costlier by 56 paise per litre in Delhi. According to the website of Indian Oil, the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai has increased to Rs 74.76, Rs 77.44, Rs 80.42 and Rs 77.72 per litre respectively.

Petrol, Diesel Prices Rise Again

According to the website of Indian Oil, the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai has increased to Rs 74.81, Rs 77.49, Rs 80.46 and Rs 77.77 per litre respectively. The price of diesel has also increased to Rs 65.78, Rs 68.19, Rs 69 and Rs 69.53 per litre respectively in the four metros.

Diesel Prices Surge Over 50 Paise Per Litre In Three Straight Days

Diesel prices rose to Rs. 66.54 per litre in Delhi, Rs. 68.95 per litre in Kolkata, Rs. 69.80 per litre in Mumbai and Rs. 70.34 per litre in Chennai.
However, petrol prices remained unchanged at ₹ 74.63, ₹ 77.29, ₹ 80.29 and ₹ 77.58 per litre respectively in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai.

Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked

Petrol and diesel prices were hiked once again on Thursday after days of no change. The price of petrol was increased by 5-6 paise and that of diesel by 10-11 paise across major cities of the country on Thursday. In Delhi, petrol prices climbed to Rs 74.68 a litre as against Rs 74.63 a litre on Wednesday while diesel price rose to Rs 67.09 a litre as compared to Rs 66.99 a litre.

In Mumbai, petrol is selling at Rs 80.34 a litre, in Chennai at Rs 77.64 a litre and in Kolkata at Rs 77.34 a litre, as per data from Indian Oil Corporation website. Diesel in Mumbai costs Rs 70.39 a litre, in Chennai Rs 70.93 a litre and in Kolkata Rs 69.50 a litre. Domestic petrol and diesel prices are reviewed by oil marketing companies on a daily basis.

Petrol Price Over ₹ 75/litre In Delhi, Diesel Up Too

State-run oil marketing companies on Monday increased petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai by 16 paise per litre and in Chennai by 17 paise.

The price of diesel in the four metros increased to Rs 67.78, Rs 70.20, Rs 71.12 and Rs 71.67 per litre, respectively. Petrol prices increased for the second consecutive day, while the increase in diesel prices continued for the fifth consecutive day.

At the same time, the price of diesel has been increased in Delhi and Kolkata 18 paise per litre each, while in Mumbai and Chennai by 19 paise each. According to the Indian Oil website, the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai increased to Rs 75.04, Rs 77.70, Rs 80.69 and Rs 78.02 per litre, respectively.

Petrol, Diesel Prices Continue To Rise

Petrol prices have increased for the third consecutive day, while the rise in diesel price has continued for the sixth consecutive day. State-run oil marketing companies on Tuesday increased the price of petrol by 10 paise in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai and nine paise per litre in Kolkata. The price of diesel has again increased by 18 paise in Delhi and Kolkata, while by 19 paise per litre in Mumbai and Chennai.

Petrol and diesel prices have also increased in all other cities of the country. According to the Indian Oil website, the price of petrol in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai increased to Rs 75.14, Rs 77.79, Rs 80.79 and Rs 78.12 per litre respectively. At the same time, the price of diesel in the four metros has increased to Rs 67.96, Rs 70.38, Rs 71.31 and Rs 71.86 per litre respectively.

Petrol, diesel prices get big cut on Holi

While petrol became cheaper by Rs 2.69, diesel saw a cut of Rs 2.33. So now in Delhi you will have to pay just Rs 70.29 for petrol and Rs 63.01 for diesel. As per Indian Oil website, petrol was selling at Rs 72.98 and diesel at Rs 65.34 in the national capital on Tuesday.

Excise duty on petrol, diesel hiked by Rs 3 per litre

Government has hiked the excise duty on petrol, diesel by Rs 3 per litre. The move has come just days after when petrol, diesel prices were reduced by more than Rs 2 per litre amid a decrease a global demand amid coronavirus epidemic.

On March 11, Petrol price was cut by 2.69, to Rs 70.29 per litre while diesel prices were reduced by Rs 2.33 at Rs 63.01.

International crude oil prices tumbled the most in decades overnight on Sunday. The collapse was triggered by sinking demand due to coronavirus scare worldwide.

Government To Increase Excise Duty on Petrol, Diesel To Increase By Up To ₹ 8 Per Litre

As the novel Coronavirus Pandemic gets worse day-by-day, the government has decided to mobilise additional resources that would be necessary for fighting the deadly disease. The Finance Ministry has decided to make some amendments to the Finance Bill 2020, wherein the government will be raising special additional excise duty on petrol and diesel by up to ₹ 8 per litre. Making amendments to the eighth schedule of the Finance Act 2002, the government has proposed a hike on petrol prices by to ₹ 18 per litre from ₹ 10 per litre whereas the duty on diesel will go up from ₹ 4 per litre to ₹ 12 per litre. However, it's not yet clear if the government will be using the ₹ 8 per litre hike as a cap to raise duties to that level or would be notifying the increase in one go. By imposing the new excise duty, the retail price and diesel may increase by ₹ 5 to ₹ 6 per litre whereas the remaining will be borne by the public sector oil market firms that have been reducing the prices for the petroleum products on daily basis, which is in-line with the falling global oil prices.

Petrol Price Hiked By ₹ 1.67, Diesel By ₹ 7.10 Per Litre In Delhi Due To Increase In VAT

Fuel prices have gone up in the national capital after the government increased the value-added tax (VAT). The cost of petrol has gone up by ₹ 1.67 per litre, while diesel has become dearer by ₹ 7.10 per litre. After the revision, petrol prices currently stand at ₹ 71.26 per litre and diesel costs ₹ 69.39 per litre in Delhi. Fuel prices have gone up after a gap of 50 days amidst the ongoing nationwide lockdown issued to contain the spread of the coronavirus, which has now been extended for the second time, till May 17, with a few exceptions.

Petrol & Diesel Prices To Be Hiked By ₹ 2 Per Litre In Maharashtra

Petrol and diesel prices will be hiked by ₹ 2 per litre from tomorrow after the Maharashtra government decided to increase the cess levied on the two fuels. Petrol and diesel prices will increase to ₹ 78.31 a litre and ₹ 68.21 a litre, respectively. Presently, petrol costs ₹ 76.31 per litre whereas the diesel retails at ₹ 66.21 per litre. In addition to the 26 per cent and 24 per cent value added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel, respectively, the state government has decided to increase cess on the fuels.
