Mine in Pune is a 1983 Mk-I has a battery with full DC setup. All lamps, & horn work directly from the battery. No need to start the engine. Check this post.

Hi. Though it is a cosmetically modified Lamby 150, Polo is one od the rare scooters launched in Inda. I would advice you to retain it and use it once in a while. Was it running while you parked it lastly. Ask around your locality with a few mechanics if they are interested in starting it up. Once you get It mechanically and electrically fit, think of paint job. If the engine doesn't need any work, you should be having a running scooter under 5k ₹.Rest is up to you and as deep as your pocket goes. A minimal paint job can start from ₹5-6k till a complete strip down paint work at 15-20k. You may decide on this at a later point of time. Parallely check with some rto agent or on vahan website about the pending tax and other charges to get it road legal.
