I never heard that diesel engines will go silent after completing 1000Kms!

I thought its vice versa, I think only after few days of service it might happen!

But if this happens really then that is a great thing from FIAT!

I never said the engine is SILENT now. It just much smoother and less noisy than earlier.

Manual Calculation - Tank-full to tank-full - 17.8 KMPL (Distance - 672KM, Diesel - 37.77Lts.)

17.8 looks ok for a new car.

yes, fiat's multijet is known for this itself, once you cross 1500kms, push the pedal and enjoy the throttle, and see more your drive, more it would give you better FE.People have got above 25KMPL on linea, so GP is surely ticketed for this.

i have read report of a linea multijet owner who is getting a mileage of 33+kmpl without ac on highways!

Mileage also depend-on how you drive!!
In Punto, i am sure in other car also, you have Instant Consumption on trip computer, which you can use to make your drive more effectively as far as mileage is concerned.

Yes, Linea is capable of producing more than 30kmpl under average driving!

My friend's Boss owns it & he is very proud of his mileage figures:)

The mileage indicator pics show that the car is traveling 30+ kilometers to a litre. We mustn't forget it is a machine and can be easily fiddled with!

17.8 is quite achievable in a hatchback and not bad for a new hatch!!
