yeah, that's it. DIY car wash bays are what we call them.
The only reason I go there is for the water pressure, personally I hate using the brushes/foam there. Just too harsh.
Wish we had similar facilities here in India. It takes 3 hours to wash my hatchback after its literally trashed all over in the monsoons.

@Recycle Art : What was the cost of one visit to the DIY job.

Here in India there is automatic wash, and no brushes, thank god.

What they do here is initial vaccum cleaning ,followed by high underbody pressure wash ,tyre etc manually by people, and body wash.

Then a machine comes moves to and fro against the car with shampoo all above the car.
Then a cleaning by shampoo again then a clean wash.
All for 350/-

If I was to wash the car at home, it would take me almost 4 hours to do it; and that is just a once a month cleaning, if I was to detail it, takes up almost 6-7 hours of my day. Usually on the weekends.

Cost depends on how picky you are mate, like say my mates finished it off with $3AU about 150Rs, me on the other hand, I hate seeing any sort of crap on the car after its washed so I spend about $8-9 depending on how dirty the car is.
Even here we are offered high-pressure brush cleaning, same with any automated washes, the detergents they use to get rid of the dirt is very harsh and can eat through your paint if it isn't washed enough with clean water. It might not be visible, but it will stay there. But that is juts me though, I like peace of mind and a clean car [;)]
