Bad month for the automotive industry

I wanted to know the sales figures of luxury brands ie Merc,BMW,Audi etc in India.I would like to request you to please provide it
I am afraid it would be more disappointing in december. Very less people buy a car in december. Thanks to the resale value stratergy. They would rather prefer to book it in december and get it early next year.

Sir I think December is a good time to buy a car where you get most of the discounts. What people genrally do is book the car in December get loads of discounts and take the delivery of the vehicle in Jan By this you get a January Passing and so the Resale value strategy can be by passed.

The quanto figures are really shocking. Overall Its a very good package and only 315 vehicles sold dont know what is keep customers away from this vehicle.

Those discounts are a reason for stock clearance. You must be reading in newspapers now a days that all companies will rise the price next year. I feel even thats a reason to clear the stock. You book the car in december and take the delivery in Jan will not mean you will get the car with VIN stating engine/car manufactured in Jan. The engine/car may be manufactured in December too.

OT: I am 24 and I am not yet "sir". Long way to go still [;)]

That Second Market mostly works on Year of Passing so VIN may not play a vital role.

The Diesel to Petrol ratios is another interesting statistic. This article on autocarindia quotes one Maruti dealer in Mumbai saying that Petrol is selling 4 times more than Diesel.

Good job on the statistics [:)]
Seems there is a slow down in sales this month (as usual). I am seeing all sorts of tricks by dealers to lure the customers before the new year.
Would be interesting to see the numbers for Dec '13
