C for Class

C for Class

I recently got a chance to take a closer look at the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class and I have to admit I was mightily impressed. It is not just leap over its predecessor, but a notch above all of its competition.

Why, you ask? Well for starters, it borrows its design cues from its elder sibling, the S-Class. A long bonnet, coupe-style roof and of course the arched bootlid, make it look extremely elegant, much like a Baby S if you ask me. The large grille that is flanked by the full LED headlights with Intelligent Light System and those classy looking taillights are few of the many things that reflect its inspiration.

Moving on to the inside, the cabin has elegant written all over it. The materials used and the overall build quality is top notch. The inspiration from the S -Class is evident on the inside too.
Three-dimensional trim in a premium, high-quality design, five round air vents and of course, the analogue clock. And then to add more to the list there is also the ambient lighting, rear AC vents and the ‘Cobra-look’ electronically adjustable seats for the front two passengers. The rear backrests are divisible in a 40/20/40 split. The new 2015 C-Class also has a Multimedia system Audio 20 CD with Touchpad and a 17.78 cm central display screen.

As of now, Mercedes has launched the C-Class in petrol. It sports a 2.0-litre engine that pumps 135KW of power and 300Nm of torque. The new C-Class has a 7-speed automatic transmission. It even boasts of AGILITY SELECT that lets you select 5 different driving modes as per your driving style.

Mercedes-Benz has launched the petrol C-Class, C200, at Rs 40.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Now the price might seem a little on the higher side, especially when compared to its rivals, but with all that the 2015 C-Class offers - a fantastic design, comfortable and classy interiors and of course class leading features, it surely is worth every penny spent.
For those who want even more, Mercedes will soon be bringing in diesel variant! Exciting times ahead!

I am amazed that there are still people willing to buy a Mercedes Benz car. Each of their cars has come with problems. The W124 had problems with the wiring harnesses which used to disintegrate and cost close to 50000 to replace. The ac evaporator leaked within 3 years and also cost a fortune to change. The belt tensioner used to breakdown within 6 months. On the w203 the front suspension arms needed to be replaced very often and it too had problems with the ac evaporator leaking. The W211 had a problem with the braking system which fortunately was changed in the w212. The W221 had problems with premature failure with the front struts and quotes of 1.5 lakhs were routinely given. Also the amplifier for the stereo used to fail and replacement would cost way over a lakh. On the w204 the front suspension links would fail as early as 15k kms. On the W212 engine mounts needed replacing sometimes with less than 20k kms. A few years ago there were raids conducted at spare parts shops to prevent the selling of spares for Mercedes cars as they were available at substantially lower prices compared to the dealers and many owners found the option of getting their cars repaired at reasonable costs. No European car company would dare to carry on in this manner in Europe North America or even China.

Re: New Mercedes Benz C-Class Now in AMG C63S Coming!

Buddies,

Its good news for the enthusiasts of racing! The new Mercedes Benz C-Class AMG is coming to India in the 3rd quarter of this year. The Benz AMG range has always garnered respect and accolades among the car lovers so would be interesting to see this one as well!

benz(1).jpg

The Stuttgart-based car-maker will only be launching the more powerful C63 S in our country. Technically, the HP figure of the C63 S matches the output of the Mercedes-AMG GT S sportscar which is also set to be launched this year, but the torque figure in the C63 S is actually 50.1 Nm higher. In comparison, the 2015 BMW M3 is rated at just 425 HP and 550.4 Nm of torque which gives the C63 S an upper hand over the M3 on paper.

Friends,

Mercedes Benz Officially has added 5 new models to the C-Class Line Up!

Official Press Release Added

Stuttgart. Mercedes-Benz is introducing a new entry-level model to round off the C-Class family downwards in cost terms. Similarly upping the stakes on the price front are two new cost-efficient four-wheel-drive variants. In terms of output, the new C 300 rated at 180 kW (245 hp) now takes the lead among the four-cylinder models. Yet more power comes with the equally new C 450 AMG 4MATIC, whose V6 engine delivers 270 kW (367 hp). At the same time Mercedes-Benz will be introducing new equipment options for the C-Class.

With immediate effect five new models have been added to the C-Class range, which at its launch a year ago set new standards in the premium executive segment. All new models are available in both Saloon and Estate variants. The family genes of the new models give them a sporty interior with a high-quality look and feel and excellent sense of spaciousness, the lightest bodyshell in this segment, fuel-efficient and responsive engines, exemplary efficiency, a comprehensive range of safety features and an agile and comfortable suspension, along with many other innovations.

The entry-level model in the C-Class is now the C 160 Saloon, with a list price of 31,683.75 euros. This is around 2000 euros less than for the C 180 Saloon, which until now was the least expensive model in the C-Class range, at 33,706.75 euros. Customers who buy the corresponding Estate model will enjoy a comparable financial benefit.

The four-cylinder engine in the C 160 delivers 95 kW (129 hp) from a displacement of 1595 cubic centimetres, along with torque of up to 210 Nm. The C 160 Saloon is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds (9.9 seconds for the Estate ). The Saloon, with its six-speed manual transmission, makes do with just 5.2 litres of premium fuel over 100 kilometres (5.4 litres for the Estate). This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 120 grams (125 grams for the Estate) per kilometre.

The new C 200 4MATIC as well as the C 220 d 4MATIC models make the Mercedes-Benz four-wheel drive system available with immediate effect in the premium executive segment, also at a significantly reduced price level. The C 200 4MATIC, for example, offers this powertrain system from 41,441.75 euros.

The top-of-the-range position among the four-cylinder engines is now taken over by the new C 300. Thanks to an output of 180 kW (245 hp) from a displacement of 1991 cubic centimetres, it develops distinctly sporty characteristics. It can accelerate from a standing start to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds (6.1 seconds for the Estate). Despite this altogether sportier performance, the C 300 consumes just 6.3 litres of fuel over 100 kilometres according to the NEDC combined figure (6.4 litres for the Estate).

Yet more power is available from the V6 petrol engine in the new AMG Sport model, the C 450 AMG 4MATIC. From a displacement of 2996 cubic centimetres, it delivers an output of270 kW (367 hp) and a torque of up to 520 newton metres. The sprint to 100 km/h in this case takes just 4.9 seconds (5.0 seconds for the Estate). Its combined fuel consumption (NEDC) stands at 7.6 litres per 100 kilometres (7.7 litres for the Estate).
Also now available from dealers are the two new AMG models, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 and the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S, which have already celebrated their world premiere. These gutsy, high-performance rear-wheel-drive sports cars are powered by a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine: this develops an output of 350 kW (476 hp) in the C 63 and 375 kW (510 hp) in the C 63 S, making this top-of-the-range V8 model the most powerful car in its segment.

Enhanced equipment and appointments

The new C-Class models can be fitted if required with such options as a head-up display, a touchpad and a wide range of intelligent driver assistance systems. Mercedes-Benz has also very recently extended the range of equipment and appointment options, which now include a heated steering wheel and a revised choice of trims.

Vehicle online with Mercedes connect me

A new package of online services under the name "Mercedes connect me" is available from Mercedes-Benz in Europe for the Saloon and Estate models via an integrated on-board KOM module. These services include, for example, Accident Recovery, Maintenance Management and Breakdown Management. Likewise, customers can optionally use "connect.mercedes.me" to connect to their vehicle from anywhere and at any time, for example in order to retrieve the fill level of the tank or to start, stop or programme the auxiliary heating system. The scope of the "Mercedes connect me" service is being expanded on an ongoing basis.
