Honda Motors one of the major car manufactures in the world has announced that they will be coming out with a new and updated Civic sedan by the end of 2012. Earlier the company had announced that the Honda Civic would be ready by 2013 but considering the market situation and reviews received, the company has decided to bring the launch date up ahead to end 2012 instead.

Under normal circumstances a mid cycle update is usually brought out after three years of initial launch, but the Honda Civic update is coming out in just 18 months of launch. The new Honda Civic will have some minor cosmetic changes both on its exterior and interior. On the outside one can expect to see more style while its interiors will offer more comfort. Suspension has been overhauled so that the bumpy ride which was reported in the earlier model will be replaced. The engine will be more powerful and offer better mileage economy. Transmission is also expected to be revamped as compared to the current version in the market. As always, Honda will launch new Civic sedan in Japan and US markets first ans subsequently in other markets like India. source - rushlane.com

I never liked this facelift! The current Civic though been for several years now , still looks fresh and eye catching. Hope this car looks good in real than in pictures.

IMO, Side profile makes it look like Verna Fluidic. The current version is anyday better, 'Classy' I say !!

Lets take a deep breadth:

Where in the report, it is stated that Civic will come to India by 2012 end ?

All it states that update of new generation Civic will be launched in 2012 end.

Ninth-generation Civic went on sale in the U.S. on April 20, 2011 but India is yet to get this generation. So when will India get 'updated' version of new Civic is anyone's guess.

Also the updates, listed out in the report seems speculative and without any concrete info e.g. what would be the power of updated Civic ?

The present civic is still much fresher to look at as compared to this model. Don't know what the Honda design team was thinking. Will wait to see it in the flesh though. But if this look remains, then the only way they are gonna sell it is if it gets the new 1.6 diesel pot.

Wonderful car! Looks like this version shall have a slightly better ground clearance than the older version. Also, the new one looks a little sobered version as compared to the present version.

The current civic looks better than this version. The old version has that catchy look and road presence. This new version is not as popular as the old one is US also. But since it' Honda and on top of that Civic. it did manage to pull the sales.

Although the new Civic lacks the striking feel which was brought in by the current gen when it was launched, but still i believe it is high time Honda brings in the new model since the current version has started looking a bit dated.

this facelift of honda civic is not that great now civic looks much better then this one.

The face lifted Civic looks very similar to the Honda City. The current Civic even today in my opinion looks much more futuristic and classy than this face lifted model.The rear looks like its heavily inspired from the erstwhile Honda Fit sedan.
