Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Thanks a lot for unbiased advise and will definitely contact you if i will go for figo.
What about the interiors quality, look and feel of ford figo as compared to swift.?
I saw a figo at dealership but wasn't able to test drive it and found rear space more than swift. Also the power window switches and the handle on which power window switches are fitted looks much premium as compared to swift. I will go for test drive tommorow and will decide after that but as everyone is telling about figo's 1.2 ti-vct looks to be dull performer and i am very much inclined towards swift only for that reason.
I took a test drive of the aspire petrol(sorry didn't mention it before, slipped my mind) the added weight can be a reason for the dull performance. The figo hatch might be a little bit better. Again you have too see if you are comfortable with it or not. Do take a TD.

I am going to harpreet ford tomorrow or the day after for getting the number plate. If you can come do tell me, will take a td together :p

I haven't seen the latest swift for a long time so can't give you a comparison between the two but yes space is more in the figo.

Yes that might be the reason even the first drive reviews i have followed doesn't have 1.2 reviews. I will be going to harpreet ford prashant vihar for the test drive as moti nagar is a bit far from my place and thanks buddy once again for the support.
On interior aspect i am much inclined towards figo while only because of engine i am hesitating since i live at a place where one have to go through the gt karnal road to reach and car should have good highway performance.

Do update what you decide. When i took a td they didn't have a figo. So confirm before going for a td.

Hi Not All hyundai cars (At-least now)

Thanks for your wishes. This is not the base varaint but the 3rd one. There are 2 varaints below and 2 variants above mine.
Car has most of the basic things like all 4 power windows , audio system with bluetooth, 2 airbags. Only things missing are the abs and rear defigger.

Mr.Allhyundaicars
Did you feel any difference in Steering weigh up of Petrol and Diesel,as i felt so
I think the petrol one was better as far as steering response is concerned.

@allhyundaicars

Congrats for your all New Figo[clap]. It looks really cool and I like it very much(Especially the Power)

Thanks a lot appu for your wishes. I can't drive the car. For so many days it's just sitting there. The dealer is not registering the car becauae they didn't get the money from yes bank. I got a message on saturday that the amount was sent. I am going to call customer care tomorrow. My uncle did all the financing and i saw him doing finance of 4-5 cars from yes bank. Most probably he's getting good commission but i never had this problem in the past [sad]

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Congrats on your new acquisition. I have test driven Aspire and was looking forward to see the same engine in Figo. Its a gem of an engine in terms of drivability and performance. I now have plans to exchange my Beat for Figo Trend or Titanium.
The only odd points i could find in this car are:

1. Typical diesel vibration/shake when cranked. It settles to a refined idle afterwards though. Didnt notice this in my friend's Nissan Sunny Diesel which i used to drive. May be i am spoilt by the fast cranking super refined Beat petrol motor.[;)]

2. Front foot wells could have been more accommodating. They could have reduced the width of gear console by 1-2 inches. This could also avoid the passenger seat rubbing gear console.

3. The build is light for a Ford. However its still well put together than 2014 Honda City.

I am in the dilemma of choosing between Trend and Titanium. I find rear washer/wiper/defogger to be useful but not a fan of those alloys in Titanium. Any Suggestions?

congrats ahc!
figo is a welcome change from the usual Maruti /hyundai cars pyling on the roads on this segment.

I think the car skips immobilizer as second key is normal one.

Congrats on the acquisition bro. yeah now its time to change the username. hell why are all behind you for the name. whats in the name.

The colour is one of my favourite, one thing i like about ford is their build quality its always better than maruti or Hyundai.

Expecting more nice and crisp pictures bro. try and take out some time for a phtoshoot with the beauty. would love to see more pics.

Congratulations bro for the new entrant. 1.5 diesel engine is really awesome and added in a hatch...oh..nothing less than pleasure.

Registration should not take not more than 48hrs..others please correct me if I am wrong. Because I got the number within 48hrs for 2 bikes and 2 cars so far...

Take care n enjoy..

By the way, I have a Polo (P) but never had hard clutch issue or pain on my leg etc. Looks like test drive vehicle was abused badly by the people like us trying to make it a sports car or changing gears by pressing half clutch etc.

i agree , even when i turn off the engine, the car shakes a little bit. but you do get a 1500 cc engine.
even i noticed the passenger seat touching the gear console. i guess have to live with it.
if you have the budget go for the titanium , you get fog lamps , ABS , driver seat height adjustment , auto AC , power folding mirrors , perimeter alarm and the features you mentioned. i think these are worth the 70k rs.

congrats ahc!

thanks bhvm. i took the car for a drive yesterday and people were looking at the car guessing which car is this [:)]
i am not sure , i think every car from 2010 onwards have immobilizer regardless of having a normal key. correct me if i am wrong.

thanks shalinder , it really is awesome [:D] all my friends scratched their head when i told them this car has a 1.5 diesel mil. they are confused how the hell they achieved this at the price point. and the delay in registration was due to delayed payment from the bank. after the payment , i too got it within 48 hours.

the polo's clutch wasn't hard but the clutch travel was long and maybe i am habitual of short travel clutch , it seemed a little tiring to me.

I'm not sure how immobilizer will work on regular key. I remember that immobilizer works on a chip embedded in remote key. they remote transmits the signal that opens the ecu encryption and allows engine to start.

on my i10, regular key starts an alarm if remote Key is used for locking. however if I use remote key to unlock once, regular key can start the engine.

perhaps Ford has some other trick to make it happen.

BHVM , i don't know if all cars have immobilzer or not. so i am going to go with you that this car doesn't have immobilizer.

do update if you book it. and i think you will have to upgrade to 195/15 because i saw sai mag wheels site and they didn't have any momo alloys with 14" rim size.

some pics that i took.

AC knobs are of good quality and very smooth to operate.

20151022_135900.jpg
steering with the music controls. the steering is good to hold with wider plastic near the steering spokes.

20151022_135915.jpg
Only 1 trip meter.

economy mode. with the mode on , it shows when to upshift.

20151022_135943.jpg
window switches. the driver side gets auto up and down function.

20151022_135951.jpg
very nice integration of the headlamp controls [clap] with the boot release switch.
now that i saw this picture i didn't try the button on the left. any idea guys ? fog lamp control ? ( trend doesn't come with fog lamps but the adviser said all the wires are present.)

20151022_140000.jpg
push the little button and it will pop out to adjust the beam from the headlights. again very smart and easy to operate.

20151022_140414.jpg
the phone dock with the aux and usb port.

20151022_140419.jpg
a look at the central console.

20151022_140435.jpg
very smart air vents. this is for the passenger side. just push it away from the passenger and the vents will close fully.

20151022_140443.jpg
the power socket plus a look at the gear lever. above the socket is a rubberized area with good grip. keep anything and it will stay right there.

20151023_133351.jpg
the stock seat cover.

a view of the interiors.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

today got the seat covers for the car. total expense 4000 rs. i paid 4000rs for my verna but the owner said i asked for leather plus cotton fabric so it will cost me 4000rs only. [sleep]

a highly recommended shop. verma seat covers near malkaganj , kamla nagar.
but there's just 1 problem , he didn't use the red color on the rear seat headrests. he had already stitched it with black and since he took a lot of time ( just because it was the first figo he worked on ) i didn't ask him to add the red color.

also , he couldn't remove the rear seat ( where we rest our back on ) they tried for 30 minutes but the lock didn't open.
