Thanks Mortalvagrant glad you liked it, Force are beginning to dispatch the vehicles i hear (finally) - i hope some of the fit and finish have been taken care of.
Its a tempting proposition indeed the Gurkha!

Just back from a 5 day back breaking, spine crushing, bum wrenching, spleen bursting trip on some really AAARRRGGHHHHHHHH roads and wished all along the way that I had a Gurkha. Does Force Motors have any exchange offer like I give my kidney and they give me THAT matte black Gurkha?

@Iron Rock: Could you derive some information on the sale numbers since its launch?

Also, never knew it came with a worm and roller setup. How is the steering feel? Hope it doesn't feel as if one is making jalebis.

My Apologies for the late reply, missed this post.
The steering is excessively raked - coming from a car it will be very apparent - but i have no complaints about it , it didnt take much to get used to it. It feels old school and not too light/not too heavy. Its big in size though, i think most trax have been having the worm/roller mechanism. My only worry with the steering will be the steering rods as they lie low compared to the rest of the stuff.

They have just about started dispatching for early bookings, there has to been a delay i understand to fine tune some aspects. We need to see the final product yet.

Thanks. Any idea if the Gerard Depardieu visage stays or have they done any plastic (metal?) surgey on it in order to make it more, ahem, palatable?

What about improvements to the AC and the Schwarzenegger gear shifts?

Have you booked it at Bombay? Unlikely, since the BS III Gurkha can not be sold in Bombay.

Please provide some details about your booking as Iron Rock has requested. What's the OTR price? Did you take a test drive before booking it? How was the dealership experience?

Hi Harshil!! Congratulations; first of all I think you are the first person to book it, way to go. I think the display vehicle at showroom has gone back and I heard they would make the changes and the updated vehicle will be available at showrooms soon. When did you book the Gurkha? whats the waiting period for the delivery? Please keep us posted..

Went to book a Gurkha but was told that dealers are not taking any bookings since the updated Gurkha is due for launch in January 2014.

My wish list:

1. Peel away that mascara and reveal the rugged Danny Trejo face again.

2. Don't make me wonder if the glovebox is shut - better shutlines please (I know it wont happen).

3. An AC that works better than, to quote Jeremy Clarkson - 'an asthamatic ant blowing at you with a straw'.

4. More powerrrrrrrrrrr[:)]. Come on guys, its a 2.6 block. Time to push boundaries. BSIV please.

5. Rpm gauge located where it should be.

6. Smaller, better designed and better positioned steering wheel.

7. Plastics that don't feel like they are made of melted polyethylene (I know it wont happen).

8. Repositioned exhaust (I know it wont happen).

9. Better looking instrument panel.



Come on Force Motors you can do it!! Attaboy![thumbsup]

Good news for Gurkha buyers who have been potentially waiting for a while now , i just got a call from Force Motors and a new Gurkha is now ready, ill be getting details shortly. I hope our patience is well rewarded.

'Our' patience:biggrin:? How many prospective Gurkha buyers make for one 'our'?

Knowing Force Motors, I just hope we aren't hoping against hope. Man! Thats some sentence[glasses].

Hope this time they'll let us do a real world test drive. I'll even say please.

On the brighter side, the updated Gurkha took a full year to arrive - its crawl must be extremely good:lol!:.

Well, the video mentions its made for the mountains/rivers/jungles/deserts. Perhaps thats why nobody has ever seen one on the roads.

Any idea if Force Motors has any dealership in the Himalayas/Ganges basin/Amazon/Thar desert? I dont mind travelling to these places in order to buy a Gurkha; but I need to test drive it once before I put my money on it and I need to see a Gurkha standing inside a Force showroom.

Or maybe we should wait for a war?
