Re: New Fiat Linea Classic Arrives Tomorrow

IAB is reporting the Classic will lose airbags. That would discourage a lot of self-driving buyers. I think this is headed the Etios way - to the taxi or chauffeur driven market.

As it is how many Indians care about air bags. Thats the reason most number of variants sold for any car is the middle variants not the top variants.

And I am damn sure, whatever they are doing here is for the cabbie market. And for personal customers they have proper linea coming up, which will also look different from the cabbie one. So there is quite high amount of chances that this idea may work out for FIAT India.

Aggressive pricing indeed by FIAT India but at the cost of taking away the safety features. ABS is absent from all the models [frustration]. I dont think cabbies would go for Linea considering the cost of maintaining and comparatively lesser FE. May be hotel chains can consider maintaining a fleet by replacing the City's or Corollas.

It's too early to comment. But if they don't provide basic safety feature like ABS in these cars, who wanna interested in buying these cars especially at this price tag + usually crappy interiors and damned fiat image among folks? Are they want these models as showcase pieces in their showrooms?

Raaj, the interiors of Linea is probably one of the best in this segment, the ride comfort it offers is also on the higher side. Regarding the ASS they are climbing up after exclusive FIAT dealerships opening up in many places (79 dealers and by this year end they target 100). If these models had ABS as standard probably it would have attracted more customers at this price tag.

Thank You Godfather. If the interiors are good enough and offers basic safety features, Iam sure, this is gonna be good deal.

Just a bit offtopic may be, If Fiat wanna reestablish in India, I think they should cut-down the prices of their models. 'Coz for example, in high end model of Punto, it have inferior quality interiors for the price we pay. Hopefully, they would overcome all these little things and sacrifice little more money to satisfy the huge fiat fans in India. Fiat, Very best to you. :)

Re: New Fiat Linea Classic Arrives Tomorrow

but sadly Fiat Linea classic comes with 1.3L Fixed VGT multijet engine[frustration]
there is nothing called as fixed VGT.

it is either fixed GT or variable GT.

the classic has fixed geometry turbo pumping 76ps for its 1.3L multijet diesel.

guess it(classic) would be competing with the dzire and amaze segment.
