India is expected to have it second Formula-1 track in Gujarat, after the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. Government of Gujarat is inviting proposals for a feasibility study and master plan for the same in GIFT City.
  • Gujarat International Finance Tec-City is a central business district under construction in Gandhinagar. It is India's first operational greenfield smart city and international financial service centre spread across 15.5 Km.
  • This location will benefit from Special Economic Zone status, providing tax exemption which will be crucial for hosting an event such as Formula-1, that requires several expensive imported equipments and vehicles.
  • Groundwork for this project started in August 2023 when a team of racing experts from U.K arrived to explore construction feasibility. The project is likely to cost upto ₹10,000 crores and has a completion target of 2028.
