Re: Bajaj Avenger's 2 New Models Launched

@Nanofreak RE leak was true for old gen but not for new gen. UCE RE's are not leaky at all.

Avenger street looks promising though definitely a good upgrade from caliber 115.

Re: Bajaj Avengers Launched - 3 models

I can imagine a frustrated Cruise 220 owner pushing his punctured Avenger with the Street 150/220 owners having a hearty laugh while passing him sitting on their motorcycles laden with tubeless rubber

OT: As usual, reporter saab.
i Dont think so as we all know that whenever you go on highways you will be finding a lot more mechanics who can repair tube tyres when compared to tubeless repairing ones atleast in northern India
so
what i am suggesting is you never know what happens it may happen that the situation what you are suggesting can reverse itself

and i think it's the other way around. each and every mechanic will have both the punctures available.

most of the puncture shops on the highways will have it for tube type. tubeless would be available only in few places that's been my experience all this while.however if you are closer to city tubeless are also available and with the tube less you also have the option of filling air and going a few kms which cannot be done if its tube.

My friend who owns the earlier Avenger was very disappointed by the cosmetic updates.I told him that I was going to buy that and ended up in TB 350.He saw my bike and was very happy too. I think bajaj made a mistake by not thrusting power output.

i wonder why when everybody can get a Vtwin why not indian companies manufacturing one. is it that we dont have the technology or is it that the companies fear that the local public would not respond to their bikes. Bajaj has the caliber to provide a Vtwin, Royal enfield has produced parallel twins, TVS in collaboration with BMW can Definitely produce one. i dont know whats stopping them from this. i know like me many would be expecting a Vtwins from an Indian company.

Bajaj Avenger with 220CC is standing at a price range of 1 lac whereas Aquila with a 250CC V twin in standing at a price range of 3,67,000 On road Bangalore. isnt there a huge Price gap cant the Indian offer something equal yet economical.

Hope one day these companies come out with Vtwins and compete with the international Brands.

Bajaj didn't even put the NS engine in the Avenger series atleast the street version should have got it [frustration] cruiser dosent need that engine so it is forgivable They will only dream of a twin in the near future .

Then it will be the Royal Enfield with bigger engines as they have much demand for their vehicles nowadays so they might introduce bigger engines to compete with the international brands and to give their customers the next level of ride, still the pricing will be less.

Bajaj can make the twin engine idea work and give it for 1.7 to 1.8 Lac ES.But they themselves may not be sure about DTSi on dual engines. Some R&D is required.I would suggest a better idea, that is to do a competition in engineering colleges with support from Bajaj to create this engine from the existing Dtsi engines. It can be VTwin,Parallel or Inline. The engines can be based on the existing 125 cc ,150 cc and 220 cc.If they can fund it for at least 20 good engineering colleges, they will get a good prototype.

but yeah 2 lac, people wouldnt mind to pay that much for a twin engine. as if now we dont have such an option. i wish V twin Musket could be a reality in india.[:D]

The new range of Bajaj Avenger motorcycles (including three models) are clocking an average sales of 25,000 units per month.

The initial sales target was 9,000 units a month, which was already triple the average sales of the lone older Avenger model. The Bajaj Avenger 150’s sale amounts to 10,000 units or 40 percent of the said 25,000, while the Avenger 220 Cruise and the 220 Street have contributed to the remaining 15,000. It is to be noted that the Avenger 150 had a zero base and that it had risk of cannibalization with the Pulsar 150. Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, says that there was absolutely no cannibalization between the Avenger and the Pulsar models despite the sub-variants operating in the same segments.
