The National Crime Record Bureau has a web page created to check stolen and 2nd hand vehicle (stolen or not):

Vahan Samanvay Internet Query

Delhi Traffic Police have a website to check pending notices:

Pending Notices | Delhi Traffic Police

Also can be checked Insurance records to check if the vesselhas any major accidents etc?

May be more ways to find pending cases - lets wait for other members inputs.!

Thanks for the useful Links! Thats awesome. I will ask owner to send RC scan so I can enter the information.
Is there Mumbai / Maharashtra link for checking pending notices? Speeding tickets etc?

p.-
The guy has quoted 120k and may come down to 1L. SLIGHTLY expensive I think. 80k would've been very sweet. Considering Insurance is also expiring.

Note sure whether below link would be useful..

https://trafficpolicemumbai.maharashtra.gov.in/e-challan/

2000 model car - please also check if all documents (especially fitness certificate) are in order. As far as the rate, negotiate with the owner and believe he will come down.
Thanks!
The link has info. But no actual search function.

BTW,
I talked with the owner. Seems a novice who recently acquired the safari. (2 months ago)
As per him Engine & AC is good. Power windows work. Tyres are good.
Insurance expiring on month end

Rear AC is not working so is Dismantled (Strange?)
4x4 axles have been removed (lying with him) to boost FE. (Strange again). Cannot say if 4x4 works. Not that I care much but would have been good.

So I assume these 2 systems are not working.
I am thinking to start quoting him at 65k. Considering all the hassles and risk of BS6 bans (1.5 year life left). What say fellas?
In the meantime my business will flourish and I will have budget get a new Vehicle! (Marrazo perhaps!)

The guy with 99 black safari has quoted a minimum of 110k. So the search in ON.
There are lot many 06 to 09 DICORs available near 1.6L. I wish I had a little more budget.

Searched for-
Quanto- good ones near 2.5 to 3L (These guys look too optimisitic !!)
Aria- Roughly 50k to 70k more than Safari' of same condition/ Age.

So any try of getting a Flop car for cheap does not seem to be working.

2000 Tata Safari diesel 227000 Kms
This guy responded well. Asking 80k.
But the car seems Too old and poorly kept for what it is.

Having already 230k on odo is not really a good thing to buy, an engine overhaulwould be needed after 5-10k kilometres.
Also, try finding a used qualis old Tata Sumo.

Yes, It seems Engine would be due to overhaul and would eat away another 50k.

Qualis/Sumo/Armada/Bolero do not fulfil my comfort and AC requirement. At-least old ones which are in my budget.
With any Kind of Safari I can be assured of comfort and basic luxury even on lower variants and old models.

P.s- Thinking to get a business loan and push the budget to 1.7 to 2.2 Lacs. Very nice 2008~2010 Safari DICOR 2.2s in that range. If I buy something, I may as well used it for 5 years or so.

Got a chance to Travel in My friend's 2006 Scorpio (Older one with 2.6 engine).
Impressions-
1. The engine is very smooth. Much smoother than Safari 2.2. Nice pep too.
2. Very poor Legroom in all Rows. Its impossible to sit in the middle in 2nd row due to AC box. Just can't keep feet.
3. Bumpy-Jumpy ride on multi speedbreakers. Esp the rear has kickback like XUV, but worse.
4. Extremely nimble in city. Very small turning radius.
5. I was surprised the car had done 2L Kms without major Maintenance. Esp the engine and its smoothness.
6. FE in the range of 11 to 13 with AC.
7. Extremely short gearing. You can putter around town in 3rd in Scorp which would be impossible in Safari. Also 4th works from 40~45. But the downside was engine got vocal at just 80Kmph due to short 5th. Needless to say NVH was better when lugging low speeds in scorp too. The safari just complains when lugged.
