The prices seem ok though i am not familiar with the costs of 17" alloys. Maxxis too are good tyres. If you feel you can increase your budget better to go for those since you will be getting the 2 yr replacement warranty!
If not you can go ahead with Nankang.
He said good year are the best of the lot in 17" tires. It costs 8k per tire and comes with 5 year replacement warranty. I doubt it as he is trying to sell what he has. He also said Michelin/Yoko are crap tires not suited for Indian conditions. I have once driven a car shod with Michelin XM1 run for 35k kms and found tires to be so grippy with absolutely no road noise. So i don't think Michelin/Yoko are definitely not crap tires [confused]

Lol seems like he is just trying to sell what he has! I would suggest trying other shops too just to get a fair idea about the rates and options! Yup Michelin/Yoko/Pirellis have almost zero road noise!

Hi Varun,

That is a very well maintained Swifty and boy, those tires do look drool-worthy!!

We also acquired a Swift last year in diesel guise though, and I'l put up a review soon.Just some quick questions:

1.) Any major parts failure in your 6 years of ownership?
2.) Average service costs and from where are they done ( A.S.S or FNG)?
3.) Rough mileage figures.

Hi Rahul,
First of all congrats for your Swift! it is indeed a wonderful car!
1) Did not have any issues at all both major and minor.
2) Average service costs around 2-2.5k without oil changes and i get it done at M.A.S.S
3) Mine is the older engine and not 'K' series one. I get around 12 kmpl in city and 15 kmpl on highways without AC. With AC a couple of kms here and there. I think the mileage will be slightly better with the 'K' series engine.

Thanks for the wishes man!

It feels good to hear that you have had a good experience, sans any issues.Such reviews from first hand owners always inspire confidence in the new buyers.

Now, as you wrote "no oil changes" at dealership. So, just two questions on that :

1.) Any particular reason and then where are you getting them done?
2.) Do specify the oil grade, if you go that deep?

Hey sorry for misquoting there!
I have got everything done at the A.S.S itself.
By oil changes i meant other oils like - manual transmission oil, brake oil etc. Normal engine oil is changed at every service which is included in that 2-2.5k.
In case the above oils and few other parts are changed which is common then the bill should be around 6k which is once in 10k kms! [:)]

The bill figure seems quite reasonable, and is high (6K) sometimes but, then it must be some major part changes.
On the whole, it seems reasonable from all angles.

Thanks!

Guys an update to be made here! I am thinking of removing the custom made muffler (Raj/Shabir) and fit the stock one back. The main reason for this is the sound which is hampering the music i listen to especially with the windows rolled down (and also getting irritated of the sound now! [lol])!

So are you planning to sell the custom muffler? do you have your stock muffler still with you? By the way the sound is pretty good, just like your car. How many litres of engine oil does your car need?

PS: Sorry for too many questions
