My old memories just rushed through looking at your car.
This was the car when i first learnt driving. This was the car when i went on my first date (with no AC, parked in a shade). This was the car when i use to fill 5 lt petrol for 100rs and use to maintain an account with petrol bunk for my monthly fills.
This was the car which in our family starting the legend of 9 series number plate. I still remember it. AHY 4392
A lots of memories. Please maintain this beauty well.

Same as Krish, I also learned driving on same car. The model we had was floor gear with bucket seat. Our model was 1985 . When we got the car, I was too small for the car to learn driving but during 1991 I started learning driving from my father. That car was sold in 1995 for 80K i think. The car place was taken over by M-800. When we took the delivery of M-800, we had two car in place but shed garage was only one. My dad kept the Padmini inside the garage and M-800 was left outside till Padmini was sold out,may be around 1 month of time. The person who took the car was not knowing driving. My dad sent me to deliver the car at his home. That was the last time I saw her.Wish I could see her again.

Loved your car, just try and source the original wheel cap for your ride(which shouldn't be hard to find), you have a sweet looking ride just loved those simple functional interiors with those lovely bench seats.

Wow congratulations for your great possession! Its indeed priceless. It is very well maintained too. We too had a blue one way back in the early 90's. Brings back a few older memories with the car. [:)]

Nice to see a Premier Padmini here as i too own one & coming to know you bought it used in 2008, i must respect you for saving its future as these are surely getting scarce day by day.
I love the way its been kept, even the original rexine (on seats & door pads) has been preserved (even after you changed seats), not to mention the now almost impossible to source steering lock cum ignition switch, I would suggest you to change the steering wheel to stock one which you can easily source from scrapyard (Kurla CST area).
Further you will be happy to know that your car has the original inner plastic door pull handles, ash trays & sun visors.

What is the difference ?
Deluxe BE was the petrol version while 1100D was the diesel powered mill.
Would like to correct something here. The difference between a Premier Padmini & a Fiat 1100D is that the former was the new name ( initially it was badged Premier President) given to the car after Fiats' license with Premier Automobiles Ltd. ended in 1972, while the latter (Fiat 1100D) were the last "FIAT" badged 1100s. The "D" here stands for DELIGHT & not Diesel. Diesel Padminis came with the badges, " PREMIER DIESEL DELUXE" & " PREMIER PADMINI 137D"

Thanks for the correction buddy. I really thought that the letter "D" denoted the diesel:stupid:.

We owned a PP Deluxe model for 9 years. Believe me the car was in showroom condition when it was sold/donated. It was the headache of changing the flooring almost every year which led to selling the car.
BTW i still remember its lovely plastic wheel caps which looked elegant since during those days, plastic caps were seen only on a few cars.
A pic of what my car looked like (Mine was white in color).

My pleasure sir. [:)] Nice to hear you too owned a PP though sad to know you parted with it in such a good condition. Rust was/is an issue with Premier badged cars & i too experience it every now & then. Also nowadays there's plenty of good stuff( rust treatment, paints et al) available in India to tackle these issues compared to yesteryears.
Yes those plastic full wheel caps came out in the early 90's & I too love them though they don't give the car that classic look as steel hub caps but for the love of it i made numerous trips to scrapyard & got a couple of sets for my car. [;)]
BTW Can you share which year of manufacture was yours.
