Re: My New Storme LX a.k.a CARBONADO

Update
ODO: 2155

I had another tank full yesterday and calculated the fuel efficiency to be 11.55 KMPL. its 50% on Highways and 50% in City with AC on all the time.

One niggle:
I hear squeaking sound when I press or release the brake pedal. I guess greasing would remove the sound. Or that the spring needs tobe changed?
Brakes are performing ideally no issue with that. Only the sound is some what irritating to me.

That's normal , even i also hear the same sound while pressing the clutch. I once asked TASS to solve the issue and they applies grease and the sound was gone but it started again recently. So don't worry [:)].

On a lighter note: If someone is driving TATA car then he should be used to various sounds from various parts of the vehicle [:D]... Just Kidding guys

Ok I guess that must be some kind of a Grease which can be sprayed. Even I thought so that greasing should eliminate that sound.

I guess, when I had enquired it was around 30K for 4 pieces. But then I continued with the existing wheels which they mention as semi alloys.

EX is a very good choice.

More than Alloy, I feel, you should opt for the explorer edition psuedo 2 din ICE. You will also need to install reverse sensors. Absolutely must for a big beast as Storme.
You might then need to get leather, art leather seat covers. You might also need Navigation device to be installed. So You have good amount of expenses at hand.

If you are using android handset you can check Sygic maps .
Better than gogle maps,
can use it without gprs connection.you have to download maps to use it offline.
Voice guided navigation is there.
Its freeware on market.
Im using it on galaxy tab2.

Re: My New Storme LX a.k.a CARBONADO

@vicky,

I think its the point for Ipod connecting cable.
Basically, I was thinking it to be aux port, so I might have "somehow" connect the aux cable from behind and DIY changes to car

May be a 7 in android tab which will be connected to apline via aux, connected to ODB port via bluetooth, with GPRS and Google/sygwin maps. Inshort a carputer with minimal effort.

I dont want any cables to be seen anywhere in the front, Power charging, aux etc.

But that seems pretty unlikely. still doing my research.

I got a pre-worshiped safari ex 2.2 dicor. everything is great. brakes are the only sour point according to me.your car really looks great. If i'm right Strome lx has got disc brakes on all 4 wheels, how is the pedal feel. is it comfortable to stop the car from 100-0 without nasty surprises?

Hi Pravin,

Storme LX has all 4 disc brakes plus has EBS ABD as well. Braking in the 2 ton mammoth is no issue at all. Braking distance is pretty less. And braking is confidence inspiring. You know the car is going to stop. So far never felt any issue while braking.

Hi Viky - First of all, Congratulations (I know, its very belated).

I also had this problem after the second service and this was fixed by TASS immediately after I reported it. (It is indeed very annoying) Haven't faced the issue in the past 9000 kms since having it fixed.

One question regarding the white bulbs - how much did they cost and did you get it done with TASS?
