My New Honda City CVT VX

Hey amiti,
How was your experience with crystal honda?
When did you made full payment, after PDI?
Any discount given by dealer?

The dealer experience was ok, not that great. They did not allow me to do PDI. However from VIN I got to know that it was latest car. Only grouse I had was I got MRF tyres and not Michelin. I made full payment before seeing the car.

I said will not pay any amount till I see my car.
Let's hope I be able to do PDI, my car will arrive in one or two days.

Hey Amiti,
Congrats for your new buy buddy. Your City in white colour looks very elegant. Wishing you loads of happy miles in it. Even my uncle has a Golden brown City VX Petrol MT. Car can be delivered only on February second week the dealer said. Do you have any plans of upgrading your vehicle. Wheels, headlights etc?

Just did my second free service, a general checkup and tightening of under body nothing else. A faint rattle from instrument cluster side of dashboard has started, although on bad roads only. I told them not to touch anything. This is a common problem in new city.

Compared to my diesel liva, this car is smooth and comfortable, I should not be comparing city with liva though. Only at certain places GC might cause problems.

Here is how the under body looks like, also posting the image of engine cover.
Should I go in for under body coating?

One more observation of my city vx cvt.

While I start the car early morning, I get some coarse sound from the engine and intermediate very light vibrations for some time, then it vanishes.

In the afternoon it's very difficult to even figure out if the engine is ON, I put the parking gear, pull the hand brake and then I usually think that engine has been shut off. When I get down from the car, the buzzer goes off and then I come to know that I forgot to switch it off.

Is the morning behavior normal?

Congrats amiti, excellent choice of car, though tad expensive from Honda.

Is your AC in ON condition when you observe this behaviour?

I suspect the following - The course sound could be the AC compressor drive engaging with the engine first time. And intermediate vibrations the same AC compressor kicking in and out with time.

If that's the case try switching of AC and check if the behaviour is gone. I have observed this in all cars, in some you have to be a little keen to notice it though as other/outside noise is high.

Hey Man,

Your City looks great. How many Kms have you done now and any major updates? How is the service cost?

I am thinking of going for a City, SVT though. After the recent price hike, V CVT has gone beyond my reach.
