Re: My Italian horse in Bossa Nova White!

Seems like am a bit late! Congratulations Raj , your Pintu definitely looks gorgeous! What about alloys now? Post some pictures of your car with tints also buddy.

BTW am surprised that you had very low fuel! I am sure you will get a call from Fiat regarding delivery experience , they will ask this question" Was reasonable amount of fuel left in your car for you to drive home?" You can complain if you wish to.

Hey Raj , waiting for interior pics of Pintu..

What are the cost of V-Kool?

And do opt for semi transparent as i have heard that Mumbai cops are fond of black tints.

She definitley isnt sissy..She's a tomboy capable of tackling the bad boys on road [:)]

Re: My Italian horse in Bossa Nova White!

PINTU'S INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:

I have barely driven her but I have got to know much more about her... by reading her kundli (manual) & spending time with her.

The first thing I do in the morning, when i get up is, look out of my window, appreciate her beauty & wish her Good Morning! Am I going bonkers???

I would like to share a few things about my pintu-

+ I have said it many times & I will still repeat - she is gorgeous! I mean everywhere, right from the mall car parking lot to the road side accessory shop, everyone gives a second glance to my pintu. And I am not imagining things... I am not blind in love!

+ The Auto AC is a chiller. Even before I had installed the tints, the hottie used to make me cold. after the tints, i set it on "Full Auto" which means it will automatically adjust the temperature & fan speed if its getting too chilly inside. Smart!

+ I am amazed by the boot space. It can easily swallow a 6 footer like me. Ahem... Does that mean two 15" subs??!!

+ The stock alloys are fantastic. these are the best stock alloys I have seen on any car, including the high end Mercs. Then why am i changing it? I want to give Pintu her own personality. Not like her other siblings on the road.

+ Fiat has given Pintu fat 195 section tyres! I am impressed that ATLEAST Fiat is not behind extracting the maximum kms for litre, like the competitors.

+ The build quality & toughness of the car makes even my innova run for cover. the "thud" when you close the doors & the overall "heavy" feel of the car is what I like in my scorpio & its present in my Pintu too.

+ Everyone already knows the ride quality of Fiats. On my way back home from the dealer, I dint notice a big bump. by the time I saw it, it was too late & i just let the car go. Pintu was at 40 kmph & I heard two loud thuds but thats about it. I barely felt anything inside. And the tyres were over inflated by the dealers too... I was confused whether I should smile or frown!

+ I filled in full tank of diesel & the Trip computer shows a range of 652 kms, based on average speed. Thats an average of 14.5, this is before the first service, in city & with AC. I am very happy if the car delivers 13-15 kmpl.

+ Blue&Me is the best thing that could have happened to me. My phone got connected in a jiffy. It so so so easy attending calls now & even making calls is super fun. Just press the windows button & say "Call XYZ" & the car makes the call for you. Superb!!!

+ Voice recognition system is also superb. It recognizes our Indian accent very well. All call settings can be changed or edited just by giving voice commands.

- The engine is an average performer. I dont know how it performs above 2000 rpm, maybe it will be good. But i want low end torque for city use. This one is not as responsive as a scorpio.

- The music system is crappy. Why the hell do I have to use the steering controls for the USB? What if my co-passenger wants to hear USB? Why cant they integrate that in the head unit? Why have they given such third rate speakers?

- I actually liked the black & silver interiors now. But beige would have looked nice, no?

Beige would have caused dashboard reflection when driving (ask i10 kappa1 owners)

I did not understand .Are you saying that USB slot is inserted into the steering control. Can you put some pic to explain the problem.I thought that the USB slot was in the glovebox for punto & figo.

imo absolutely no!!

what i have figured out is steering controls and music systems communicate through bluetooth. same is with usb . the internal computer in punto does the processing for anything which is not on the head unit. so the control systems are just primitive or wierd .
the positive side, the cd player and music playback is pretty responsive and fast. and hu is capable of 30wx4 but those crappy speakers( 6 1/2" x 7 watts)ruined the show.

Re: My Italian horse in Bossa Nova White!

I was planning to add lenso alloys but unfortunately that dint happen. However, I got another set of 98 PCD alloys from a Taiwanese brand. Added tints from V Kool.

A special thanks to TAI'n Aditya (renegade) for accompanying me, clicking all the pics & even photoshopping it.

I mean a dual tone colour like in Linea.

The USB slot is in the glovebox but the controls are ONLY on the steering.

Alloys

@ Raj, Congrats on your new ride awesome color, I have a few questions for you.

If you don't mind can you please tell us the price of alloys?
Were the OE alloys exchanged , if so how much did the OE alloys fetch you ?
What make are the stock tyres?
Can you please post a close up shot of your alloys?

Too many questions [:D]

yes pintu's hu does not have usb player but the usb is part of windows computer inside her ,probably for analysis and programming which must be added with music playing capability for an additional feature..

i came here again to see those pics , oh man they are incredible .
with such looks i feel you will make her wheels on fire..
btw i suggest you to be patient at least until 3000km you will see that pintu is bit (very) stubborn initially but post 5k.....(suspense) !!
