Mumbai To Goa: Route Information

Drive safe and avoid night drive.I have not visited Goa via Chorla ghat in this season but just want to give heads up regarding NH48 between Pune to Satara. The highway has dangerous pot holes in entire section both ways. Please drive in controllable speed.

We are planning to leave Navi Mumbai by 4 am on Aug 15th. I just had a word with the hotel at goa and they were saying that the chorla ghat is under construction. Will now have to plan via the Amboli ghat. Btw, i will be travelling to South Goa.
Any other route suggestions?
