@Raj and friends from Mumbai, we are eagerly waiting for that beautiful camera work with your rides[:)]
Well, we know that we have taken a lot of time. As I said before, this is the first time a different approach has been chosen for portraying the meets and hence this delay. Apologies for the same.

Well, I have a positive news for you all. The “unveiling” is not very far now! It just a matter of a few hours.

If you are disappointed or furious that we are still asking for more time, don’t be! We have a teaser pic which will indicate the things to come…

OFF TOPIC

Just noticed 6 out of the 13 people in the above photo wearing glasses. (Not counting the 2 heroes and heroine in sunglasses). That is close to 50%.
All of them look young. (Except may be the guy wearing hat).
After seeing the photo, I walked around my office and observed more than 10 people with glasses among around 20 people. Again 50%.

Isn't this a high percentage? In school and college this used to be 1 out of 10 people wearing glasses. Is this a representation of deteriorating health among us, may be because of increased use of computers and TVs?

ON TOPIC

Raja, you look glamorous as always.
The guy in the hat also not bad :)

Ladies, Gentlemen and Car Maniacs (yes, we are a different breed!),

As you all know, on 10/11/2013 some TAI’ns from Mumbai had a meet, a meet with some driving around the city and then some lunch. Okay, so meets do happen and then pictures are posted. What’s “hatke” in it?

We had a desire to do something unique and different. So we thought, what can be done… what probably can be done so that this meet remains special for a long time to come. We wanted to invite more and more members to have a look at our meet. And that can be done only if you bring something noteworthy on the table. And we like to believe, we have -

So, the whole team of Mumbai drive meet proudly presents before you – ‘Mumbai CARnama 2013’.

Firstly,

  • What is Mumbai CARnama 2013?
It is not just an amalgamation of pictures and words written haphazardly in a thread, it is a short video.

  • What does the video depict?
Well, it revolves around three concepts:
(1) Mumbai city and Mumbaikars.
(2) Cars, but of course.
(3) The drive, which was an inherent part of the meet.

Mumbai CARnama 2013 is a video which in essence portrays the life of an automotive enthusiast, who takes a day off his busy work schedule and is out to explore the city (in this case MUMBAI) with some friends and of course, his car. The open roads, steering in the hands and foot on the throttle, the high revving engines and screaming exhausts; coupled with some amazing food… isn’t this what they call motoring bliss!

Since we have already made you guys wait, we decided there will be less of blabber now and more of content. So without further ado, the entire team of Mumbai CARnama are glad to present TAI’s first of a kind video… made by auto enthusiasts, for auto enthusiasts. We have put in a lot of effort to shoot and upload this in HD, so I would request all readers to enjoy the movie in 1080p resolution

TAI Mumbai carNAMA 10-11-2013 - YouTube

For an average Joe, this maybe run of the mill. But for an automotive enthusiast, we are sure this movie will get the message right across his heart. The message –
“Crazy about your car? Enjoy talking about automobiles? Love driving? The next CARnama is coming soon… You live once, live it king size.”

The entire team would like to thank ‘Raja’ for coming up for this excellent idea and ‘nickandre’ for converting this idea into reality.

Now that the video is done with, lets move on to the pics. Again while presenting the pics, we though of a different concept, which is "more content per pic".

Instead of posting multiple pictures of the same member one after the other, why not club them together and make a collage? Also, incorporate the member's user ID within the collage instead of writing it within the post, so that it is easier for readers to identify the members. This also helps in reducing clutter on the thread and hence avoids the need to scroll vertically excessively.

We all hope you like this idea and with that, we will first present the solo pics of members -

We are almost done. Finally, we present to you some group pics and some montages. Once this is done, each member would present to you his individual experiences of the meet and may also post some pics taken by him. We are hoping this was worth the wait guys...

@Raj_5004

I am really delighted with that video and pics !! I often used to think about such things in the meets. When we had a meet in Hosur, I thought of such thing as our members played a lot in a swimming pool and there were two DSLRs present at that time and felt Vishwas will do something like this.

I really missed being there[frustration] and see myself in such beautiful portrait pics.

Look forward to see more pics in the row and hope you will not miss out in our next Mumbai meet and click a nice pic on the worli sea link[:)]

I congrats you and Raja for such a plan and all the members for their patience and cooperation to present a nice experience to all of us

OT : Raj_5004 looks like Ashwin's(cricketer) younger brother and Johnyboy looks like father to all of you[;)]

This was the first time i have ever been for any meet from any forum, could say its because I never get the time to go for them or to lazy. What pulled me to this meet was it being on a Sunday and luckily i was free that day and not to mention the route they planned which started of from my current college and passed through my previous college as well as it had stops at most of the places i as a graduated student hung out at and did "Time Pass(T.P)". However I did not interact much with all, i blame it on the lack of sleep I had in the past three days prior to the meet. Will keep my experience to a line or two.
Raj_5004: Civic! Civic! jeez sitting inside his civic made me fall in love with it so much that I have been asking my dad lets plan for a Civic top model with auto gears:rolleyes:
Jarpickle: Cool guy to chill out with or talk about gadgets etc.
Johnyboy: Car pooled with him and we did share a good convo about cars and the media industry, as well as were the only two that kept going a bit away from the group for our sutta breaks[lol]
RaviB: Fun guy, good with his knowledge of phones however did not interact much with him so will type in more when we meet next time.
Nicepankaj: Really down to earth guy even his wife, it was fun having them with us.
Raja: We all know how amusing and entertaining he can be.
Storme911: Evey where you saw a safari storme you had to call out to this guy. Haven't interacted much with him.
Cruiser, petrolheadprash, vikalp and sandykudva: Fun guys pretty knowledgeable with automotives I need more time to get to know them.

The lunch was one of the best things of the day, being a hardcore non veg i must admit I loved the veg thali we had, as the thali came my mouth was watering and just could not wait for them to dig in so I started grabbing a few bites while the others were still being served[evil].

All in all it was a memorable yet tiring day for me. Hope for more meets like this with more members.

Mumbai CarNama i would say "one of the best sunday's spent"
Since sunday is always a lazy day for many, but this Sunday was very special.
We all gathered near ilavati(bandra) from there it all started.
First time i met sandykuya, petrolheadpras, nicepankaj,Vikalp,Nigel,Jonnyboy there with their polished car - parked one behind other, and i had met other members in previous meet.
This time i had santro with me,Storme was unavailable that day
When all arrived we all started the journey from bandra.
Reached sealink after paying the toll saw a white civic which was owned by Mr.Raj_5004 zooming towards southern end.I must say the pickup and acceleration at which you were going was pleasure to watch from behind.
After 10km -12Km of traveling, we then parked our vehicles at nariman point.Had a detailed gupshup of i guess all the cars lol
We then went to Asiatic library where we had most enjoyable moment pulling each others leg,i guess excpect raja all others had their first video shot. And i think all had given their best shots. This was only possible due to nigel's effort and it nicely choreographed by Mr.Raja.He made sure what ever role he was giving was suited with personality.
Later we proceeded to eastern freeway and again we were left behind by sandy's innova and Mr.raj's civic behind.
Myself RaviB nad NicePankaj we all were travelling one behind other on eastern freeway watching the amazing view.Later all member arrived anHad a heaviest Lunch at maharana hotel.Had a wonderful thanli with tasty sabzi's and small cute chapatis's
