Hi Guyz,Bharath here.My Faithful and Old LA Sovriegn Spark is giving up on me.She has been very reliable and has been a No-problem-cycle for me for the past 5 years.Just Normal services like Oil Change Rs.20 for 3 months,Full Oil Service Rs.100 in 6 months and Complete Overhaul (Full Disassemble and Re-Assemble) Rs.400 every Year.It may feel very high spending for a cycle but Thats How deep I love her.If its OK,I will write an Ownership report on her in TAI ! The Only Problem is it has started to show its age.I asked the Mech and he said,Like Us,They also Age and It cannot be fixed.Even before that,I have Oathed myself never to touch a Motorbike more than 60cc under age of 17.But as I am already 15,I just have to wait 3 more years to turn 18 and I felt It is not worth buying a brand new cycle, use it for 3 years and just sell it off !! My Father agreed,He will look for a Moped under 60cc like TVS Champ,50,Old XL and Bajaj Sunny.I am more Inclined to the TVS as it has always been a dream for me Owning a TVS Motor Cycle.I also had an Idea to ask this to TAIns.Thats why I am Asking this.I will have a 7 KM Run Everyday and My Budget is Rs.5000 I can strech it for another 2K Max.All I need is Mileage and lesser Maintainence.Spares are no problem for me as My Dad's RE Mechanic says he can source all parts for both these mopeds.I will do some DIYs Myself too. After some time,I will even Restore it.Thank you

Hi Guyz,Bharath here.
... Even before that,I have Oathed myself never to touch a Motorbike more than 60cc under age of 17.But as I am already 15,I just have to wait 3 more years to turn 18... My Father agreed,He will look for a Moped under 60cc like TVS Champ,50,Old XL and Bajaj Sunny.
Hi Bharath, From the legal front you can apply for a licence to drive a non-geared 2 wheeler as soon as you turn 16. After 18, you can apply for geared 2 & 4 wheelers. The mopeds & bikes mentioned above will still require a licence for you to ride them on road. Till then you can look around for mopeds which didn't require a registration. Following are some of them.
1. RE Mofa
2. TVS Express
3. Luna Wings.
The problem is all of the above have not been under series production since almost 15 years. Finding one in running condition will be harder and sourcing replacement parts will be even harder.
On the other hand you can go for an electric bike. Firstly you don't have to pedal and get tired, and also it doesn't need a registration & hence no licence required for riding it. In that case you can invest another Rs400/- this year and ride the existing bike until you turn 16. Also you can go for thinner tyres & rims by which you can reduce your effort on pedaling. A soft saddle seat can keep you more comfortable. What say?

Sir,To be humble,I havn't even heard about those 3 Miniped mentioned !! I am fed up of electric bikes.A Strict No for Electric Bikes. My Budget is only MAX Rs.6000 and only the Under 60cc options are TVS 50,Champ,XL and the Sunny.I have TD some Used Electrics and they are in Pathetic condition at my Budget. The RE,TVS and the Luna are WAY Out of my budget.Yes,I found 3 of them just now in Online. The TVS 50 is very easy to maintain so its making more sense now.Thank you

Can't you try the TVS 50 for 1.5K that you reffered me?? You restore it and you will be the first restorer of TVS 50 in TAI!!![;)]

Anyways, apply for a LLR and drive a Scooty ES or Scooty Pep+
Cops will leave if they see you on a Scooty Pep+ but not on your mom's Honda Dio!

P.S: Don't tell me that Scooty ES and Pep+ are for girls. You don't have any other options.[roll]

EDIT: I remember you said that you don't know how to drive a bike(moped/scooter). Scooty ES/Pep+ is a best beginner training machine bro!! Or, I will lend you my Kinetic Honda for your training and then buy your moped/scooter [:)]

So sir, any update? I think you bought the Scooty? Anyways, I think you can go for a bicycle right now and postpone the Scooty part for a year. One year won't kill you and you will have the bicycle to satisfy you. Go for a cheap bicycle and then ask for a scooter in 2016.
