Re: Mitsubishi may bring Delica MPV, Attrage sedan to India

I agree Vijay. It is look like somebody who hate the company, taken this decision.

Since most of the SUVs sold in India are Diesel varients and the current trend here is diesel mini SUV.But Mitsubishi coming here with petrol varients first.

I had seen the innova look alike Mitsubishi Grandis in many old movies(jacky chan movies). This car look like fixing a MItsu grill infront of Innova. If they would have launched it here earlier or even now, it would have been a great success. This Delica MPV looks like a van and it will not be winner here as per earlier history(xylo,Evalia etc) especially with Mitsu's narrow dealerships.

Even lancer were selling better earlier, they didnt launched the newer varients.Still they are not planning that.Lancer dtill not looks aged and better than this Attarage which looks like our Nissan sunny here.

Re: Mitsubishi may bring Delica MPV, Attrage sedan to India

It is too late in the game. The news talks about in next 3 to 4 years, better idea would be to close their shop in India. Sorry it is harsh but that is the reality.

Lancer is one great car and the owners now also stand by it. It is a pity that the company which gave such a car has been sleeping all this year and now waking up and dreaming of bringing in some old product.

What's the point in bringing Petrol Versions of Outlander & Montero ? Meaningless I would say. I think Mitsubishi senses that with small gap between Petrol & Diesel, they might think people will buy Petrol cars. Sorry Mitsubishi, this is not USA. This is India where Diesel is the major contributor in sales of SUVs. If you want some success along with some amount of Profit, shed that plan to bring Petrol SUVs and bring Diesel SUVs & people will buy them. And don't forget that Petrol SUVs are very thirsty.
Mitsubishi should change its plan to see some kind of sales momentum.

Some websites says Mitsu is going to launch DELICA in 2017 or 2019.Needless to say,Mitsubishi is a lazy frog. Why they need this much time to launch an already in-production model?

Mitsubishi Motors : Indian plans

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation gearing up the new product launch: Mitsubishi outlander.
The car is also listed in their Indian website.
Seems like they are launching 2.4L Petrol CVT with 4WD initially (not confirmed).

Outlander is an excellent vehicle from the manufacturer,Lets hope that the diesel variant will also be available soon.
If the government decides to give a relook into its the hybrid plans ,Mitsubishi could be benefitted very well as they are running very well with their PHEVs (Plug in Hybrid EVs).
This car should have been priced exactly into the Jeep Compass category , unfortunately it will be a CKD or CBU it seems, Lets hope that Mitsubishi brings it in the Hyundai Tucson price range!
The car is very well kitted everywhere around the world & hoping they will bring in all the features to India too!
Its also available as a 7 seater abroad.

New Mitsubishi Xpander MPV is a 2018 Maruti Ertiga rival – Could launch in India

Mitsubishi Xpander MPV was first unveiled last year. The car is currently on sale in Indonesia, where it rivals the all new generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Yes, the new Ertiga has been launched in Indonesia already. India launch of the new Ertiga is expected to take place later this year.

Considering India is a huge market for SUVs and MPVs, especially those in the Rs 8-12 lakh range, there is a high chance that the Xpander could be the next launch from Mitsubishi in India.

At the launch event of their new car, Mitsubishi India’s MD said that the company has plans in place for launching newer products in India. Focus is on SUVs and crossovers. Mitsubishi Xpander, the 7 seater MPV, is noted with ‘Dynamic Shield’ philosophy, new headlamps with turn indicators and a distinctive three slat chrome grill with LED pilot lamps on either side.

It measures 4475mm long, 1750mm wide, 1700mm tall, and has ground clearance of 205mm capable of seating 7 persons in a three row configuration. It sits on dual tone 16” alloy wheels and receives a floating roof effect with darkened C Pillars.

Interiors of the Xpander receive air conditioning, electric windows and faux wood and leather accents. It gets touchscreen infotainment and Bluetooth phone connectivity. The instrument cluster also gets an analogue dial and digital MID screen. Seating in the middle is of a 60:40 configuration while rear seats offer a 50:50 split.

Mitsubishi MPV is powered by a 1.5 liter MIVEC petrol engine mated to a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic transmission. As of now this is the only engine option on offer. Variants on offer are Ultimate (top end), Sport, Exceed, GLS and GLX (base).

Price of the new Mitsubishi Xpander in the Indonesian market starts from IDR 1.89 million (Rs 9.04 lakh) and ranges all the way up to IDR 2.45 million (Rs 11.74 lakh). When launched here, it will rival the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Honda BR-V, etc.

New-gen Mitsubishi Pajero Sport India launch in 2019

Six years - that's how long Mitsubishi went without launching a new product in India. With the introduction of the Outlander, the Japanese carmaker broke that dry spell, but it's looking to make a comeback on the back of an SUV-heavy line-up. Spearheading that comeback will be the third-generation Pajero Sport, a product that has already been a long time coming. We can now confirm the butch SUV will finally go on sale in India only in late 2019. As per a Mitsubishi insider, the model will be brought in as a completely built import initially, and could eventually be assembled. How the decision to import rather than locally assemble pans out with respect to pricing will be critical. All of the Pajero Sport’s rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X and the soon-to-be-launched Mahindra Y400 are assembled locally.

The third-gen Pajero Sport is not entirely new having gone on sale in markets abroad in 2015. Test mules have been spotted testing, suggesting a midlife facelift for the Pajero Sport is on the way, and that could be the model that eventually makes it to India. Based on the same platform as the Triton pick-up truck, the new Pajero Sport promises to offer every bit of the ruggedness that has won the current model a loyal fan following in India. Four wheel drive will be on offer, and an off-road mode will be part of the package as well.

The Pajero Sport looks aggressive with sharp headlights and a bold grille, and also has lot of bling with a generous helping of chrome. On the inside, the new Pajero Sport gets features such as an all-leather interior, dual-zone climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, a 360-degree camera, seven airbags and an electronic hand brake, among other things. Worth noting is that the SUV also secured a five-star rating in the Australian NCAP crash tests though final spec will determine how it fares in India’s upcoming crash test.

Powering the new Pajero Sport is a 2.4-litre MIVEC diesel which makes 181hp and 430Nm of torque, that comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. You can expect the engine to be BS VI-compliant by the time the SUV makes it to India.

The current-gen Pajero Sport gave Mitsubishi a fillip in India when it went on sale in 2012. The new one could do the same for the Japanese manufacturer that has for long been on the fringes in the Indian automotive market.

Update: A new image of the 2019 Mitsubishi Delica D:5's exterior has leaked online, courtesy 5ch.net.

Mitsubishi will offer the new Delica D:5 with only a petrol engine initially. This engine will send drive to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission (old model’s AT is a 6-speed unit). The fuel economy rating (JC08 test cycle) is said to improve by 0.6 km/l to 13.6 km/l.
