Maruti Suzuki celebrates the 25th anniversary of the WagonR, highlighting its status as a popular family car in India. The model's spaciousness, varied engine options and safety features have contributed to its long-standing appeal.
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR has reached 25 years in India, having been introduced in 1999 as the "Tall Boy." According to Jato Dynamics research dated November 22, 2024, for CNG cars and SIAM data for petrol cars in the passenger vehicle segment, it has been India’s highest-selling car for the last three consecutive financial years: FY 22, 23 and 24.
The WagonR S-CNG is recognized as India's highest-selling CNG model, with 660,000 units sold to date. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is available in a range of models, powered by two K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine options: a 1.2L and a 1.0L engine. Customers can choose between manual and Automated Gear Shift (AGS) transmissions, along with S-CNG variants.
