But the brochure has no clue of ESP and cruise control ?
That will be a great addition.

It would have been great if airbags are provided as standard on all variants instead of the gimmicky Start-stop button.[anger] I personally never liked this feature.

That won't happen for a Maruti product. They just don't give importance to safety features. Never a car from thier stable has ABS & Airbags as standard. They are present in just Z trims and in some cars V Trims.

I was made to wait for 7 months when I had booked Swift VDi ABS back in 2007, when Swift was just launched. After some months it was totally discontinued. The brakes on ABS version felt far better then Non ABS version. Apart from some add-on features, this facelift version isn't radically different from earlier one.

The Ertiga Diesel variants and most of Ciaz's variants have ABS standard.
I agree that MS should bring at least ABS standard on all variants of all of their cars, which they are not considering for now.
I hope atleast ABS is made standard for all variants of the Swift 2014.

Going by the first spy pic, the facelift Swift seems to have very little differentiation to the current one.
Both grille are larger and the "V" shape of the fascia is less pronounced. The Front bumper appears to be a mix of the Dzire.

Agreed, some might not even notice the difference. Maruti could have done little bit more work to make it a proper facelift. DRLs would have been nice, ESP and Cruise Control are not there in any variant I think.

Alloys are boring compared to earlier ones. I liked Brio's & Swift's OEM alloys very much. These look similar to dZire with additional spokes.

Why don't they make Bluetooth standard in V trims also? Since both V & Z trims share same Audio.

Cost cutting. THAT is what one should usually expect from Maruti. Only the top trim gets all the goodies, and the pricing does not make sense on it either.

If bluetooth is available even on the lower variant, what is the difference between the variants? Of course all cars have their share of cost cuttings. I hope MS has also added more features such as ESP to justify the price and to be competitive in the market.
When the Elite i20 is the priciest and still people buy it even though the ride and handling is a far cry from the Swift, what is wrong in pricing of the 2014 Swift which is No.2 in India and has great Ride-Handling combination?

Never thought of all this. Request to all: I may be perceived as a Maruti-Suzuki hater (which is true, partly) so please forgive me if I make some wrong statements. No offence meant to anyone, just because this is happening to me too often

While ESP is surely not possible (IMO again), Maruti doesn't really have to justify the price or be competitive in the market. I know many folks who shall never go out of a Maruti showroom. If they increase the mileage, it's going to be even easier. Even I was one of them maruti-guys, but many factors turned me against them. Swift shall be ever-green, don't worry. But then, tell me: How many buyers will ditch the V for the bluetooth and go for Z? Sensible ones would get to work in the aftermarket. Others would compromise. And those who can extend their budget will go after the Z variant. Oh, I almost forgot, ABS and Airbags are also a reason to go for the top variant. And tell you what, MSIL offered the Airbags and ABS on the top trim just for the safety ratings (they always use the topmost trim (?)) and to add another feature on the spec sheet. Agree many manufacturers do the same, but Swift with flimsy build quality? Now at least where I live, it is very rare to see a Z trim Swift (especially ZXi), and even those Z guys prolly didn't get the option pack. Now Suzuki cannot do much to change the thinking of Indians except few which they cannot manage with already a fine on their head. But all will take for granted: If they add airbags, not many will throw the Swift out of the list just because it is priced 20,000 to 30K higher than now. And about our argument about Bluetooth: You are right  Not leaving difference between models is what I (personally) hate.

Ji, I couldn't understand what were you trying to say.
Yeah, I agree that not many people buy the Z trims. Most of the Swifts I see are either V or L trims, so given that there is an increasing concern towards safety features, I guess MS will provide at-least ABS as standard on all variants.
The current V model doesn't get ACC, music system, ABS, Airbags, alloys, driver seat height adjust and electric boot release. So the facelift Swift V models gets a 4 speaker LED display music system, ABS, Electrically retractable and adjustable ORVMs, which makes the deal a bit better.
Of course, people who want Bluetooth and Starter button should either opt for the Z trim or go for aftermarket fitment.
As there are no spy pics or information about the equipment list of the Base L trims, we cannot comment on that.
It would be better for MS if they provide ABS as standard even on the L variants.
Also, if you think Swift is flimsy, then what will you say for Honda Brio, Amaze and Mobilio and City? The Indian Swift has performed very well in the NCAP test conducted a few months before, although the ratings haven't been released.
