20220826043633_Maruti_GUJX.jpg

Suzuki’s Gujarat plant has completed cumulative automobile production of 2 million units, and the company notched this milestone on August 20, 2022. The plant was set up in March 2014 as the company’s first 100 percent Suzuki-investment automobile production company in India.

SMG started production in February 2017 and achieved accumulated production of two million units in five years and six months, the fastest by any Suzuki production plant. The two-millionth vehicle produced was the South African-spec Baleno (equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol). Located close to the Mundra Port, the Gujarat plant is also used as an export hub for markets, including Europe, Africa and Japan.

The SMG plant produces multiple models; Plant A rolls out the Baleno and Toyota Glanza, Plant B produces the Swift and the Dzire, while Plant C produces the Dzire and the Baleno. Of Maruti Suzuki India’s current pending orders of around 3,87,000 units, the premium Baleno hatchback currently has an order backlog of an estimated 38,000 units.

Maruti Suzuki signs agreement with Kamarajar port; to export 20,000 cars annually

Maruti Suzuki announced on Thursday that it has signed an agreement with Kamarajar port to export passenger vehicles to global markets. The port will be used to export cars to Africa, Middle East, Latin America, ASEAN, Oceania and SAARC regions. The auto giant said that it will use the port to export 20,000 vehicles from this port annually.

Kamarajar port in Tamil Nadu is the fourth port after Mumbai, Mundra and Pipavav ports to be used by the auto giant to export its vehicles from the country.

The agreement between the parties that starts in December is for a period of five years. A car-cum-general cargo berth has been developed and commissioned by the Kamarajar port to handle automobile units.

Maruti Suzuki MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said that the company is dedicated to the Make in India initiative. “Our expanding export operations reflect our commitment to offer reliable, high quality, technologically advanced cars to our global customers. The start of exports from the Kamarajar port will help us reach to a wider base of customers,” he said, further adding that this will help in decongest the Mundra, Mumbai and Pipavav ports used by the company. The company will continue to export from these three ports.

Sunil Paliwal, CMD of Kamarajar port said that associating with the company will augment their operations as well.

Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara units manufactured at the Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka as part of the agreement between the two companies will be sent to the Kamarajar port for pre-delivery inspection and subsequent exports.

Kamarajar port has a parking capacity of 14,000 cars. The vehicles are checked and cleaned thoroughly before shipping.

Maruti Suzuki that has been exporting since 1986 recorded the highest ever exports in FY22, dispatching over 2.38 lakh units across 100 countries.

Maruti Suzuki Crosses 25 Million Domestic Sales Milestone

xmaruti-suzuki-grand-vitara-front-view-1675146517.jpg.pagespeed.ic.iEPJ56zm6K.jpg

India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki recently went past the 25 million domestic sales milestone. Maruti Suzuki is the first carmaker in India to have achieved this milestone. The 25 million domestic sales milestone comes just two months after the carmaker achieved the same number in terms of cumulative production in India in November, 2022.

The achievement of the domestic sales milestone comes in the same year that Maruti Suzuki is set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first car to be rolled off its production line - a Maruti 800 - in December 1983.

That first Maruti 800 rolled out of the carmaker's plant in Gurugram, Haryana. Since then the carmaker has rolled out millions of cars from its facilities in Gurugram and Manesar. The carmaker currently produces 1.5 million cars per annum and is set to expand its production further by setting up a new 800-acre production facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana.

Maruti Suzuki crosses 2.5-million-unit cumulative export milestone

Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East are major export markets for Maruti Suzuki

20230330042225_Grand_Vitara_Akbar_colour_correction.jpeg

Maruti Suzuki has recently achieved a major export milestone, with a cumulative 2.5 million units being successfully produced and shipped to export markets. This also makes Maruti Suzuki the largest passenger vehicle exporter in India in CY 2021 and 2022 (as per SIAM’s data). The export operations for Maruti Suzuki began back in 1986, with the carmaker essentially exporting to our neighbouring countries — Bangladesh and Nepal. In late 1987, Maruti Suzuki shipped its first major international consignment of 500 cars to Hungary and has been exporting to countries across the world ever since.

At present, Maruti Suzuki exports its cars and SUVs to over 100 countries across the globe, with support from parent corporation Suzuki Motor Corp. The regions most important for Maruti Suzuki include Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East. Maruti Suzuki exports 17 models internationally, including the Baleno, Brezza, Dzire, Grand Vitara, S-Presso, and Swift.

Speaking on the occasion, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “The landmark export of 2.5 million vehicles stands as a testimony to India’s manufacturing prowess. This feat demonstrates Maruti Suzuki’s resolute commitment to the Government of India’s flagship Make-in-India initiative, and furthering Government’s efforts to enhance vehicle exports. This was possible because of the strong support of our parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation, who not only provided strong technological support but also helped us leverage their vast global network to achieve this milestone. I would also like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our teams who played an important role in realising this feat. We thank our global customers and our overseas distributors for their support and trust.”

Maruti’s Neo-Narrative: Enabling Car Ownership with Subscribe Plans

From Start to Stop: Seamless Maruti Subscribe Plans, Buy-Back Option

maruti-subscribe-buyback-scheme-offer.jpg

Maruti Suzuki Subscribe is empowering vehicle ownership with its innovative and comprehensive approach. It offers customers an enticing alternative to traditional car buying. A flexible and customised solution so consumers can enjoy the experience of driving a Maruti Suzuki without the commitment of long-term ownership.

And Pre-Fixed Buy-Back Price optionis a key strategy. This progressive initiative introduces an unprecedented level of certainty into the subscription model. Under the White Plate Subscription, customers are provided with a pre-fixed buy-back price, creating a seamless transition between subscribing to a vehicle and eventually parting with it, or owning it.

Maruti’s Partnerships: Fixed Buy-Back Plans
The alliance between Maruti Suzuki and partners such as Orix, Myles, Quiklyz by Mahindra Finance, and ALD Automotive showcases the brand’s commitment to offering an efficient and trustworthy service. The fixed upfront vehicle buy-back price offered by these partners forms the cornerstone of this collaboration, aligning with Maruti’s reputation for reliability.

The all-inclusive monthly rental not only covers the vehicle’s ex-showroom price but also encompasses various associated expenses. These include RTO expenses, insurance – both new and renewals, as well as the flexibility to include customizable accessories. Moreover, the rental incorporates provisions for vehicle maintenance and roadside assistance, underscoring the program’s convenient and holistic approach.

Driving Tomorrow: Maruti’s Empowering Initiative, The Growth Story
Outcomes are as clear as they are impressive. Celebrating its third anniversary, Maruti Subscribe Plans has garnered substantial traction, experiencing a remarkable growth surge of over 292% in volumes during FY 22-23. This growth trend signifies a shift in consumer preferences, as more individuals embrace this modern approach to mobility.

A striking feature that cannot be overlooked is the programme’s foreclosure option, further highlighting the initiative’s customer-centric design. This provision adds to flexibility, ensuring that customers retain control over their subscription journey.

The Future of Car Ownership
In essence, Maruti Suzuki Subscribe amalgamates modern financial tools, convenience, and car usage. A symbiotic relationship between the company’s offerings and customers’ desires is of paramount need looking at the competitive car space. A blend of comprehensive services and customisable options, meets modern mobility needs and also shapes the contours of MSIL’s future.

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “Maruti Suzuki Subscribe has fast evolved over the years as an alternate mode of car ownership, keeping customer convenience and flexibility at the forefront.”

Maruti Suzuki India plans to open 57 new Nexa showrooms by March 2025

FireShot Capture 298 - Maruti Suzuki India plans to open 57 new Nexa showrooms by March 2025_ ...png

Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) is doubling down on its plan to become the vehicle of choice for a more urban and affluent Indian. The New Delhi-headquartered automaker will open 57 Nexa showrooms, its premium outlets, by March 2025 as the demand for its top-end vehicles continues to increase, Shashank Srivastava, senior executive officer (marketing & sales), said on Thursday. Currently, there are 468 Nexa outlets in the country, with the first one opened in Dwarka, New Delhi, in July, 2015.

About 31.9 per cent of MSIL's total sales till July this year have come from Nexa, up from 22.4 per cent for the whole of 2022-23 (FY23), Srivastava told Business Standard. The country’s largest carmaker currently sells the top eight of its 17 passenger vehicle (PV) models via Nexa showrooms — Baleno, Ignis, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Fronx, Ciaz, Invicto, and XL6. The remaining nine PV models are sold through the company’s 2,842 Arena outlets. It also sells one commercial vehicle, Super Carry, through separate commercial outlets.

The last few years have seen MSIL increase its focus on gaining a higher presence in the utility vehicle (UV) segment, which is recording the fastest growth. The company launched Grand Vitara, Jimny, Fronx and Invicto (it’s first car priced above Rs 20 lakh) in this segment during the last couple of years.

This helped MSIL increase its share in the UV segment to 23.12 per cent in the first quarter of FY24, compared to 17.4 per cent in the corresponding period a year ago, according to the data from vehicle manufacturer’s body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.

“The idea of Nexa was to bring a new type of consumer for MSIL,” Srivastava said.

“MSIL was known primarily for reliability, quality, large network, low cost of maintenance, and great value for money. As the economy was growing, we realised there is a class of consumers who had a different purchase criteria,” and for whom design, features and technology mattered more than price or fuel efficiency, he added.

Maruti Suzuki cars are trash. They are prone to fatal accidents due to their weak body. Very unsafe car.
