Re: Suzuki's New Premium Hatchback Baleno Now Launched!

Hi SKR,

I am new on forum. Need help from you guys. I have booked a Baleno Delta from Sai Service Nexa and even having same experience with them. When I booked the car I only get the SOB number through SMS and nothing else. Whether they provide any Nexa ID and receipt mentioning the queue number. Whenever I call my RM he say that I will be getting all the updates through the message?

Is it correct??

Thanks,
I did not even get SOB. It was some other receipt no.
I only got SOB last week when I got one message stating the booking amount and SOB.

Last Saturday I got one SMS regarding NEXA credentials. I also got a call from Maruti insurance as I have opted for stock insurance.

If this RM manager is Angad, then don't believe him. Don't ask bank to disburse loan until you get mail from official mail ID that "you will get car on XYZ date and these are ABC details".
Angad is very good in fooling people around. Don't belive on his promises until you get mail from official mail ID.
No I am not dealing with Angad. I guess all have the same attitude.
Thanks anyway for giving heads up.
Since you bought it in Pune how much time it took for registration. Every time I call RM, he tells the same thing that you should have got an SMS by now and if not then will get tomorrow. To be more, from the batch in which your registration papers were, nobody has received registration detail till now.
I have asked him to inquire about the reason. Wondering if there is any other way to know where are my papers stuck or if they haven't sent the papers at all.
From which showroom you are buying? SHIVAJINAGAR showroom??
It is NEXA Baner.

Nexa Baner seems to have some issues.

If you get a call from Maruti Insurance, it means your car insurance has been registered. Dealers often do this- they register the insurance even before the car leaves their stockyard. That way, if there is any issue, they can claim insurance in your name. Its both good and bad- you get lesser days of insurance cover since you haven't gotten your car delivered but it also means the car is in transit.

Ask and insist on a preregistration inspection. Tell them you will stop payment and loan disbursement if they don't offer it

TSIVipul - Baleno's roof is sloping at the rear and Maruti has placed the rear bench lower than New Jazz to give more headroom. Though it gives more headroom, but not comparable to the Jazz. Placing the bench even lower would have made the rear claustrophobic for short rear passengers, so it is a compromise between comfort and space. But I still feel Maruti could have placed the seat bench a bit lower, added additional cushioning so that comfort would also be great (like legroom) and seat back would still fold flat. Jazz is *the* car for intelligent packaging and it was proved in the previous generation also.

Suryaputhra - Yes I agree Baleno's dashboard has a bland texture, as compared to Dzire which has different textures at different parts. Regarding the flexing part, I felt the same while closing the doors, the doorpad sort of came closer when I applied pressure. Check if it is the case with Dzire also, my friend's Swift has the same problem but primarily around the armrest (on door). And, Dzire's backseat is the most comfortable seat (not considering legroom) one can have at that price, so thumbsup! [clap]

Ameyam - Seat covers look perfect! Totally worth the price you paid for them. Doesn't the additional steering cover move around a bit (not while turning, but while say holding the wheel)? And what problem did you exactly feel with the stock leather wheel? Was it slipping because of sweat (on your fingers) or something else?

Re: Suzuki's New Premium Hatchback Baleno Now Launched!

Ice_wise,

The steering cover is cross stitched tightly and does not move. I like the feel of a soft & grippy fatter steering wheel & with the stock wheel leather, my hand would just slide over making a sisk-sisk sound that irritated me from the get go. So i had planned to get the wrapping done at delivery itself.

Will post more detailed pics tomorrow

By the way, i got no rto smses at all. Not now, not when i bought the swift

I pushed dzire panels, they are not going inside. Maybe zxi variant have good quality, stock yard people said like that.

Not push inside, pull towards you while sitting inside with door closed. It will flex. :P

no, not flexing at all, very sturdy.
Maybe Maruti improved the quality. But I bet that my Dzire's door flexes when pulled like I mentioned above. It is a VDi, though this has nothing to do with flexing.

EDIT - My Post #700!

Baleno' s door panels do flex a bit. Especially when you pull the door closed. Nothing out of the ordinary though

I don't think this is true. What I know is that insurance cover will start only after car is registered at RTO. So our insurance benefits will not give anything to dealer.
I guess they have separate insurance for covering damages from Maruti manufacturing unit till their showroom.

Re: Suzuki's New Premium Hatchback Baleno Now Launched!

TSIVipul - Baleno's roof is sloping at the rear and Maruti has placed the rear bench lower than New Jazz to give more headroom.
Sorry sirji, that explanation is not good enough to explain the poor placed, padded and shaped rear seat. You have got a DZire back home and it is also a car with tight leg and headroom but isn't the seat well placed, padded and well shaped? Especially in the sub-4m DZire which we have now, older one had better legroom but newer one has better rear seat.

Though it gives more headroom, but not comparable to the Jazz. Placing the bench even lower would have made the rear claustrophobic for short rear passengers, so it is a compromise between comfort and space.
I call that design flaw!
Not giving enough thought while designing the vehicle. Honda and Hyundai have gone a different way and have finally obtained a better rear seat (Way better indeed) at slight cost of legroom (Well acceptable though). MSIL could have used slightly bigger seat base (Maybe an inch or so) and slight change in the seat design; be it seat base or backrest and they were done but they have decided to use scissor here. Sense of legroom with a compromised seat[lol]; now select one of the two - either have a better seat or have a lot of legroom.

But I still feel Maruti could have placed the seat bench a bit lower, added additional cushioning so that comfort would also be great (like legroom) and seat back would still fold flat. Jazz is *the* car for intelligent packaging and it was proved in the previous generation also.
Placing it even lower would have made people sit with knees pointing towards sky I guess. IMO they just needed to change the shape; the hip point is actually at the place where it should have been; they just could have used a bit more foam for under thigh support (Ala DZire) and that would have solved the problem. Legroom is already enough, with same seat height, no headroom issues and the under thigh support issue also would have got solved.

Flexing when pulled towards inside with the doors closed is there in nearly every car at least under 25 lac price bracket. Flexing of the doorpads when arm kept on door armrest (Which never happens in Baleno) or while windows operations (Ford Figo has it) etc are what point towards flimsy pad build. Rest slight flexing will be there in nearly every car when you pull the doors from inside where they are in shut position. Corolla has that, laura has that, Innova has that, Polo has that, i20 has that..ehh nearly every car has that.

C'mon guys, door pads are not supported with reinforced metal and have nothing to stop them from flexing when you pull them inwards, check on how they behave when you push them outwards; especially the part above and under the armrest.

No complains against Baleno in this aspect, I haven't found anything wrong with the doors and their pads. They are finished better than DZire, door armrests felt better placed, shaped and padded and button, handle etc placement is also brilliant.

And what problem did you exactly feel with the stock leather wheel? Was it slipping because of sweat (on your fingers) or something else?
If your hands sweat a lot then better get something to cover the leather steering cover else within an year of time you will have a really bad looking leather steering cover. I have this problem and the wheel cover of my Corolla started looking too much worn off within an year itself. Now I always have a small sized towel placed on my lap and the problem is solved for now. On my Polo I have the leather wrapped wheel and its just a 14 days old car but the wheel has now itself started showing the negligibly minor signs of slight wear because of sweaty hands. This is the stock wheel and I will be getting a high quality and super durable leather cover for it whenever I am free:

The people at yard have tried to fool you saarji and you even agreed to what they said, hence proved: they have succeeded in fooling you.[lol]

Please go through the jhol-jugaad written above.
