Re: Maruti 800 Type-II (1998) – 15.5 Years and Many More To Go

Took the day off yesterday due to mild fever. had nothing to do, so made some jugaad clamps out of electrical conduiting plastic and fitted the fog lamps in the grill. One bulb got shorted so bought another for Rs.50/-.
Still no light, so went to a local accessories shop and got the wiring corrected. Also purchased wheel caps and left ORVM, changed the right ORVM and bought a bottle of Waxpol 2K rubbing compound cum polish.
Hi Prakriti j

Liked your effort and being successful in fitting the fog lamps, good idea. But since it is fixed on to the grill, won't it heat the lamp and melt if it's of fiber while the car is running?

It will heat due to placing near radiator, but this heating will not deform or melt the plastic. Do not worry.
hmmm, the Right lamp is placed in front of the radiator but not touching it. I too don't think there will be any prob.

The grill I used is a low quality MS grill and I am going to change it soon to a SS one which I will paint black[:)]

Please post a straight picture of the grill. And you should get it painted black as saroya says.
Here is a front view picture

I bought some carbon fibre sticker from ebay and applied it on the B-Pillars and window frames last Sunday. It was a DIY so the results are not so clean, also there was not enough paper to cut out a continuous strip of the same pattern. Some pics...

Thanks bro.
For me, the position of the lamps is ok as the throw of the light is just about 4-5m in front of the Car and thus no glare to the oncoming traffic whatsoever[:D].
Also, the fogs are of low cost and the spread is not very good. But IMO in case of driving in foggy conditions, it would suffice to warn oncoming traffic about my position.
Where do you suggest is the best position for the fog lamps.

Hi, These fog lamps costs 200-250 per pair here. I have fitted many of these on customers cars. You'll need some wiring and a relay and a switch to connect them.
Btw: What do you think about TAI Lucknow meet.
