Buddies,

Today I have driven both KUV-1OO Petrol and Diesel and in this chill weather only I know how this TD was conducted:biggrin: A Big thanks to Mr. Tapesh of Noida Mahindra Dealer for accompanying me for the Test Drive and being really involved with the photoshoot. This upcoming review (will be up in 24 hours) would be by my standards and from TAI's laid protocols, the longest review.[cheers] After doing this review of the Kreatively Unique Vehicle today, my present condition is like as seen below!! So, friends, see you all after 24 hours, once I complete this review. Thanks to all of you for giving constant motivation to me.
I always envy you and other's like you who get time to review the car after longish TD with such people around you!! I hardly get time to do TD and even if I get, I have to run from pillar to post to get the TD of newly launched ones.

Kudos to you for doing a great job! Eager to see how KUV fares as a car, even though I don't like it!

Seems KUV have recieved close to 60,000 enquiries. That is a great way to start. So people are only wanting to have a butch look car what ever that is called a Cross / SUV/ Mini SUV it doesnt matter to Aam junta. It is we autohead who have objection to the vehicle that is categorised as an SUV or Crosss or hatch or whatever.
If it looks like SUV and is cheap then it has to be purchase. Said that, MnM have not only successfully foreyed in the small car segment but also has a winner like Kwid giving hyundai and maruti a reality jolt. Dont know what will happen to Classy looking suave Zica.
How do you know this is not Mahindra's way of marketing some hype around the car ? Lets wait until the enquiries get converted to firm orders and that too with a waiting list like Baleno/Kwid.

Yeah I suspect the same too. While I was there at the showroom, not many people came to have a look at the car; despite the fact that the KUV had been launched just one day before my visit. Those who checked it out also weren't impressed as much too. Many of them found it to be quite ordinary in terms of interior and quality. Most of them were comparing it with established hatchbacks such as Baleno, Swift, Grand i10, etc. I don't think much of the bookings and inquiries would be converted into actual sales.
This quality and appeal is where the Zica hopes to satisfy people.
Exciting times are coming![:D]

Happened to visit G3 Motors, Nerul, Navi Mumbai today to accessorise my friend's Thar and saw KUVs parked there. I could not resist my temptation to take TD. I somehow don't like blingy looks of Mahindras like XUV and now KUV. Since KUV is having the smallest diesel engine amongst all Mahindra and also the first petrol engine, I was having very few expectations from it.

I chose to take TD of D75. First impression is all good and the vehicle looked very good in silver colour. Started the motor and was impressed with refinement. There is a slight turbo lag till 2000 rpm abut post that, its just a breeze to drive. I never expected 1.2 motor to be so responsive. There were 4 people in the car. I drove pretty hard and nobody complained about ride quality or comfort. Handling and stability is good too. The car is spacious enough and there is no issue of knee room or head room. the TD vehicle was 5-seater one and hence, there was no arm rest for driver. Without the arm-rest, my left arm was stressed while shifting as there was nothing to rest my hand on. View upfront is good and ingress and exit is comfortable too. Fit and finish is not in the league of i20/ Baleno but it more than makes up for it in space and VFM quotient.

After the TD, I made it a point to check out 6-seater one and I realised how comfortable it is to use the 6th seat folded as arm-rest. Full marks to Mahindras for the latest innovation. Use it as occasional 6-seater (only when needed) and fold the seat as arm-rest when not needed. Many of us won't use the 6th seat but its always better to have one.

Overall, I am very impressed with the car and may consider it if its available with AMT in the future.

There are some reports about problems in axle of Kuv100 .Mahindra has recalled those kuv100 & deliveries of new cars have been postponed for now.
Mahindra have a track record of such niggles, why they can't sort out their problems before a new products is launched.

I liked Mahindra's KUV100 overall, but felt it would be good if M&M could give the front and back black fiber stuff with body colored stuff.

Hope Mahindra is on for it :)

a 'soft recall' [:)]-well MM seem to get the niggles out of the way pretty soon-the XUV had its gremlins when it was introduced, but MM seem to have straightened things out v soon-the XUV seems to have buried the Aria (remember there was one such?)!

Checked out KUV 100 today. Though didnt drive it. Looks are not too bad. Infact from the side looks much better than in the photos. Inside there is plenty of room. But my head was brushing against the roof in the rear seat while sitting a bit erect.( I am 5'10''). Gear lever in the dash didnt feel too bad but need a long drive to see whether it puts a strain on the shoulder.

The biggest downside I felt was the boot. I dont know how they measure boot volume but that boot cannot-cannot be larger than my Celerio..and Celerio has 235 L boot space while the KUV is supposed to have 243 L of space!! It seemed even smaller than the Swift which is 205L. This 243L is really really difficult to believe.

Other than that its a pretty decent car overall .Should provide good alternative to Grand i 10 or swift buyers.
