Re: Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Launched @ Rs.11.21 Lakh (Coverage: Page 7)

Hi All,
I was waiting for automatic launch for a year or so. Finally could not wait for longer and booked the Pearl White W10 FWD on last Thursday and took the delivery on Sunday.

Any suggestions on accessories to be added? Dealer suggested side step and which is not to my liking. Did not want to add any additional chrome to car. At the moment planning to go for 3D mats alone.

Main feature I miss from most of my previous two cars is that automatic roll up of windows when the car is locked. Did anybody install this up module on XUV.

Thanks,
pcrao

Wow this has to be the first new age XUV on TAI and maybe the whole internet! Congrats sirji[clap], my suggestion, keep your car STOCK for now. No need to go for anything except floor mats. There is enough chrome to keep us indians happy [lol].
No the automatic windows up module cannot be retro installed and i wouldn't suggest doing so too. It messes with the wiring to much and since you have a new car i would suggest that don't need to do anything electrical for now atleast. Take care and please do post atleast one or two pics here. Would love to see your XUV.

Mr. Rao hello, Its nice to know you chose the XUV-500. Trust its the Face-lift one. Well as I have seen the car in flesh and also the fact that W10 is the new model and fully loaded, so, I would say just leave it as it is. It does not need any external after-market fittings. Secondly, Please avoid bull bars at front and rear. They add unnecessary weight to the vehicle and in traffic one has to be really careful while keeping distance from other vehicles because they are almost 1-1.5 feet protruding from the bumper of the car. In all probability the nudging with other vehicles on road and parking shall take place. I suggest the following, Car Perfume, good seat covers, and gear lock. Do not go for any anti-rust etc from dealer and no body coating etc. If need be, then get the anti-rust yourself from 3M. Looking forward for your ownership review.

Thanks CarLoverJosh, Akash & Raj.
I agree with you guys don't prefer extra chrome or bull bars (both front & rear). Noticed that for kids and elder people, ingress/egress is not easy, so I might have to add that later. So for now only item in my mind is just mats and planned to add that during the weekend.
Thanks,
Purna

Purna, Side Steps are essential for big size SUV like XUV and Fortuner et al. I can't tell you really how much they help in egress and ingress. I was testing the Fortuner 4x4 AT once, and mind you even after being 6ft, the side steps provided the much needed support. If you don't like the dealer's Side Step, go to a good accessory shop and choose the pair.

Mr.Akash ,Which camera had you used to cover these pic?.Images are great .

Also how is the blue lighted interiors,i would have preferred the already existing red lighting.

Also is interior tone combinations available or only beige-black only.
