Mahindra eKUV100 EV concept made debut at the Auto Expo 2018, followed by unveiling of the production version at the Auto Expo 2020. The company even went on to announce the Mahindra eKUV100 price at ₹8.25 Lakh but this electric compact UV never reached at dealerships. The KUV100 itself didn't set the sales chart on fire, but homegrown automaker is now betting high with its electric avatar. Here's what we know until now:
- Mahindra eKUV100 launch in India is expected to happen in 2023 after Mahindra XUV400 EV launch.
- Mahindra didn’t introduce eKUV100 inspite revealing the price, most likely due to travel range-related concerns.
- The car is now in the final stages of development according to insider info, which is also evident from recent spyshots.
- Production version looks similar to the one shown at the Auto Expo 2020 for most part apart from mild differences like different alloy wheels etc.
- Mahindra eKUV100 is equipped with a 15.9 kWh battery pack to power a single electric motor, producing 54.4 BHP and torque of 120 Nm. Travel range is claimed to be 150 Kms on full charge.
- Full charging time through regular charger takes 5 hours 45 minutes, whereas 0 - 80% happens in 55 minutes using a fast charger. Port for each are located on front RHS and LHS fenders respectively.
- It’s still unclear whether Mahindra will retain these specifications or revise them considering the long time-gap and advancements in the industry. However, we do anticipate an improved travel range.
