Hello.
We all know that the Kinetic Honda DX/ZX is a legendary 2 stroke Scooter.
Why we don't have a thread for this legend?
So, this thread is for discussing and getting help for their KHs.(Only)

Ok, Here is my Question. How to remove the side panels of KH ZX?[confused]

ZX Bore or ZX Zoom Bore?

I Have a Kinetic Honda ZX 1995 Model.
The engine is still Untouched.
I wanted to rebore it.
I know that 110cc kit from ZX Zoom has better Performance.
I have heard that the ZX Zoom scooter and its 110cc engine has problems[roll].
Shall I Upgrade to 110CC bore Kit or rebore the same 100CC Kit?[confused]

Forget the ZX Zoom bore. Go for the original 100cc ZX bore.

By the way, where are you getting the replacement bore from? Is it a new bore? What about the crank and piston? Managing to source a new Kinetic Honda bore in these times is a rarity. I too have a 1996 ZX that I have stripped completely and plan to rebuild it.

I also read the Specs of ZX Zoom and the DX/ZX 100 CC in Indiamart Website.
The ZX Zoom has lower BHP and Torque than the 100CC DX/ZX[frustration].

Ok, Let me Introduce my Kine.
Its a 1995 Year ZX/DX 100CC That has run only 40000 Kms.
My Mechanic advises that the engine life of Kinetic Honda is about 35000 Kms then Engine work SHOULD be done.
My mechanic tells That he would fit the 110CC New Bore Kit and Fix the Electronic Choke for Rs1500. My Kine doesn't have a battery. Would Electronic Choke Work?
and What about the mileage and the run-in Period of a new 100CC Bore?
Would the Legspace (the Space between Handlebar and the seat) Break?
I have gone to a welding shop and he asks about Rs40 to weld the Middle Rod.

1. If you dont feel anything wrong with the engine (poor compression), then there ia no need to do engine work just because your mechanic says that the life of the Kinetic Honda engine is about 35000 km.

2. I dont understand what he means by 'electric choke.' All variants of the Kinetic Honda came with an auto choke. I don't get why an 'electric choke' is required.

3. Forget the 110cc bore 'kit'. Making all this work reliably is beyond the scope of any roadside mechanic.

4. Run it in for at least 2000 km. Thereafter start revving the engine gradually. This is called 'progressive running in' where the engine is made to get used to increased heat/load in a gradual manner.

4. Why would the leg space 'break'?? Could you elaborate?

Do ask your mechanic form where he's going to put a new bore (whether 100/110cc). Let him not swindle you by putting a rebored block.

Rather than replacing the Bore (I assume you mean block and piston), I suggest you replace your mechanic. My sister did 80K kms on her Kinetic Honda before selling it.

Can anyone say about a cost of a new 100CC Bore and where can I buy it?
A mech tells Rs5000[surprise] and My Mechanic tells Rs1000.[surprise]
Look like that first mech is cheating me with telling me Rs5000[frustration].
What if i rebore instead of chaning Bore? Do i get any problems? Are there any Run-in Period after reboring?

Reboring means boring the existing hole in the cylinder so that it accepts the next piston size.

I am not in favour of reboring as most reboring machines are purchased by roadside mechanics after they have been scrapped by big companies and so the accuracy of these machines is highly doubtable.

I don't think its now possible to get an original block and piston for the Kinetic Honda, not unless you manage to find someone who has been left with an unsold piece since looooooong time back.

I am still running Kiney that clocked 1.20 lakh km, still on original bore, oversize piston rings. Brand new cylinder kit, USHA make, cost only around 1.8k.

It's there in two regular shops where I procure Kinetic parts, in Trivandrum. I have seen USHA kits at many spare shops, for other models. SO should be available at any regular spare shops.

How to increase the mileage and performance?
If Uni Filter is installed, would the mileage and performance improve?
Where can I buy it?
How much would it cost?
Any other Filter suggestions (like K&N, HP, etc)
After installing the USHA Cylinder kit, What can I expect?
