Kia has taken the covers off the much-anticipated Syros SUV today.

The Kia Syros made its world debut today. The compact SUV's unique design stands out from the rest of the Kia models in India. Aesthetically, it resembles the Tazman pickup. However, it also has several unique features, such as a thick B-pillar and boxy body panels. The Syros will be launched in India in January 2025, and its prices will be revealed then. Booking for the Syros will commence on 3rd January, and deliveries will begin in early February 2025.

The Syros's exterior is boxy. At the front, it has a flat-ish face. The vertically stacked LED headlights are prominent. The thick plastic cladding on the front bumper adds a touch of ruggedness.

You also see a faux skid plate. From the side, the Syros looks boxy. It has a body-coloured B-pillar, a design feature not seen in India since the Skoda Yeti. At the back, there are L-shaped LED taillamps.

Kia has equipped the Syros up to the brim. It comes with a host of features such as a single 30-inch display housing the touchscreen infotainment and a digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, USB type-C charging ports, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a twin-spoke steering wheel.

Comfort features on the Syros include a powered driver seat, adjustable and sliding rear seats, and front and rear ventilated seats. The Syros will be available with OTA updates.

Syros shares its engine line-up with the Sonet. It has a 120 hp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 172 Nm of peak torque. No diesel engine will be on offer. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual.

Kia is offering Level 2 ADAS on the Syros. This camera—and radar-based system features multiple advanced driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a blind spot monitor, and automatic emergency braking.
