Conrats Karlover for the German Beauty. The build quality is really good.
Though i doubt the comfort of the middle passenger in back seat due to raised hump. Does it interfere too much? Kindly throw some light on this front. Cheers and Enjoy your ride [:)]

@nishantsoni: Thanks buddy. Once went out with my 5 friends with four of them on the rear, and they were very much comfortable, thanks to the leg space..rear seats are good enough to give you an upmarket feel..

@nick:one more thing, i hope antenna is just an external accessory and won't void warranty if changed.

I've changed the antenna on my Vento to a short stubby one (I guess 9 inches tall). Got it from a friend who got it from www dot unitedcustomz dot in. You can try there. and No it wont void any warranty. In any case if you have any doubts, you can keep the original antenna with you and when you send your vehicle to workshop swap them!

Good idea to buy Meguiars care kit. How much is it for? And where are you getting it from? I guess some basic stuff is enough - QD, gold class wax (or nxt 2.0 wax), ultimate polish and some micro-fiber. For washing you can buy Optimum No Rinse solution instead. I guess that should be sufficient. In Bangalore we have 3M stores and I got paint sealent done there. Nowdays every fortnight I just do quick detailing using the Quick Detailer and the car looks just as good as new!

@joslicx:i will try that antenna for sure, dint like the stock antenna. and regarding car care kit, i just saw it on e-bay and read a bit about it. it was of some 75$.

@nick:i am not sure about that tire shine product, will have to check it again. i haven't booked it now, but will place the order in a day or two.
But before placing the order, will go and check karol bagh auto market, its one of the biggest auto market. So, hopefully will find something good their.

hey karlover. congrats on getting your new ride. German cars are a class apart. Atleast from the way they drive and handle. They may have minimal features but the driving pleasure is unmatched or maybe matched by the likes of Ford, Fiat.
I have a VW POLO Tdi and a Fluidic Verna 1.6VTVT SX in my garage. Comparing the ride qualities of both , there is a hell lot of a difference. Although a mere layman would not pick the difference and he'l go all bonkers over the looks n features of the Verna like my sis who drives it.[;)] But somebody who loves driving and is passionate about the same won't be too excited with the road manners of the Fluidic.
How do you find the ride and handling of the Vento as compared to your previous car - Fliuidic Verna .

@joslicx: can you please tell me the cost of that antenna you got form your friend?
I think it costs around 600. Nikunj, the owner of unitedcustomz is quite good actually and has some interesting products. I am sourcing sport pedals for my car thru him. Bought a key chain also from him in the past.

If you want even better looking antennas (even as short as 2 or 3 inches) you can buy them off amazon. Also you can buy the sharkfin that is there in Jetta from unitedcustomz (it costs around 1600). A friend of mine got that installed in his Polo (I got the stubby from him) but the connectors didnt match so he had to cut wires to fit that. If you are willing to do that then you can get sharkfin on your vento. It looks super kool!

gm88 whats the fe you get on the verna? a lot of us petrol owners have been feeling irritated by the low fe it gives in traffic and being sensitive to fuels.

@gm88: thanks buddy. ride quality of vento is a class above fluidic, it inspires me to push throttle more and more, but due to road safety i control me eagerness. on the other hand, verna was not that bad either, if one has a strong heart he can pull verna as well but i wont give you that confidence. or in better terms, while throttling verna you will come to know as speed increases but you wont know this in vento.

@joslicx: where's the office of unitedcustomz?

My Verna is basically driven by my sis for her office commute. She is a very sedate driver but she uses the clutch a lot which lowers down the FE a bit. In city , Verna is giving around 13kmpl with AC on all the times. On our recent trip to Mussoorie from Chandigarh covering around 480kms it gave a FE of 17.4kmpl which is pretty decent IMO as there were a few hilly patches too where the car was running in mostly 2nd or 3rd gears. The car has done around 6500kms in approx 10months.

Yes very true words. Whenever you accelerate in Verna beyond the 80kmph , the increasing speed can be felt inside the cabin also. While in the VW even beyond 140kmph one has to look at the speedometer to realize that one is going at that much pace. I have pushed my Verna beyond 150kmph mark too and it readily reached there without much bother but the bounciness and the vertical movement made me very nervous about the whole ride and immediately i came back to the higher two digit speeds which the Verna is comfortable in. Its a really good city car, no doubt about it but not a driver oriented machine.

thats pretty good figures she gets there, mine puts out 12-13km/l on the open roads and goes up on expressways, most others get low fe, mines done 12,300 in 10 months[:D].

on the verna i couldn't notice it was on high speeds without looking on the odo but that only applies to properly leveled roads, the intensity of bouncing will surely make you feel you at higher speeds when you're not. Ive taken mine to 170 for a few seconds it quickly reaches that speed but the bouncing put me of, I've never crossed 130-140 after that. Driven the vento as well though i did find the engine noise at idle but flooring that car was the best you don't feel any body roll or extreme bounce.

Yup even i think she is getting a pretty decent FE. On even roads like the expressway it doesnt feel nervous at all. Its those other uneven highways where it gets a bit uncertain and nervous at higher speeds. Engine noise in Verna is minimalistic. At idle, one cannot even tell sitting inside if the engine is running or not. I have driven my friends Verna Crdi too. Engine noise inside the cabin in diesel version too is very very less. Pretty good job done here by Hyundai engineers.
